1Sharon:@1Sharon, how's it going? My pleasure... I'm glad the historical EVIDENCE-BASED info posted by me here made sense to folks like you and others. Indeed, If you don't know your history or where you're coming from, you won't be able to take full control of your immediate environment using the elements of foresight. If you're interested in getting those hard copy books I listed here that were published from several decades back, then you can start off FIRST by searching for the book titles via Google Books, OR simply just type and Google the book titles with PDF at the end of the book titles and voila!... The books will download immediately on your mobile device or laptop. The direct Web link for downloading the 1921 book "Among the Ibos of Nigeria" by Reverend George Thomas Basden where he wrote about the eating if humans (cannibalism) for food by Ibos in the wider areas East of Onitsha is BELOW: Always check the Index pages of the book for quick references to cannibalism, osu caste system, or any other words you are interested in. =>https://archive.org/download/amongibosofniger00basd/amongibosofniger00basd.pdf https://archive.org/details/amongibosofniger00basd ~~~~~~ I've also had for many years now a 1949 copy of this awesome book "HISTORY of NIGERIA" in my personal home library. The book was originally bought in 1949 by my late paternal grandfather with his name still written on it with pen ink in 1949. The direct Web links for reading and/or downloading the 1929 classic historical book "History of Nigeria" by Sir. Allan Burns are BELOW: Check the index pages of the book for the word "cannibalism" among the Ibos, and he wrote in the iconic book about the killing and eating of Doctor Rogers Stewart (the White medical doctor) in 1906 at Mbaise which led to a British punitive expedition. Sir Alan Burns (1887-1980) was a British colonial administrator who served as the Governor General of the Gold Coast (now Ghana) and he was also the Acting-Governor General of Nigeria in 1942. He had lived in Nigeria for many years prior, so, his advanced book was based on FACTS of history. =>https://ignca.gov.in/Asi_data/18507.pdf [You can rename the PDF book after downloading it from "18507" to the actual book name which is HISTORY of NIGERIA by Sir Allan Burns]. https://books.google.com/books/about/History_of_Nigeria.html https://archive.org/details/historyofnigeria0000burn_l3h8 Enjoy the rest of your day Sharon. Ciao.

Magnificenttop:Thank you. Your post is nicely put. As a member of Gen X who's also cosmopolitan and well-traveled internationally, I've always known the importance of living in harmony with others in a world that isn't monolithic in terms of cultures. But with the relentless narcissistic attitude of these youngsters from among the Ibos who don't even know their own sordid history, and who deliberately engage in online forgeries in order to disseminate highly defamatory, fake histories about other Nigerian ethnic groups online for many years now, (simply because of the loses by the mainly Ibo rebel secessionists in the 2 years and 6 months Nigerian Civil War), then it's time to STOP being "politically correct" and counter their shameful propaganda with EVIDENCE-BASED historical books, videos, and screenshots like we've done here to show them FACTS and enlighten the younger ones from all ethnicities. There's absolutely NO time to exchange curses or swear words with them like you've also stated... Just move and retreat with guerilla warfare and go for the jugular with pure FACTS based on screenshots, videos, and PDF downloads of books. Enjoy your weekend. Ciao. |

Sleekfingers:Not half your so-called soups being stews. Obe-dindin? Really? |

Probz:That's a lie. Pepper Soup is West Africa and common in Nigeria and Ghana. Or do you want to tell me that there are Igbos in Ghana too? You guys just love to claim everything. |

LifestyleTonite:I’m jot talking about in a broader west African context, though. I mean in Nigeria itself. Yes, it’s become popular across Nigeria but Yorubas are known for pepper-stew/s more than pepper-soup. It’s always traditionally been much more of a(n) Igbo/Delta thing. Calabar people seem to vibe with the interface between pepper-soup and plantain porridge (which is to die for with goat-meat, I can’t lie) but even they aren’t traditionally big pepper-soup-for-pepper-soup’s-sake people. A little, but not like Igbos and Delta/Rivers/Bayelsa people. At least not originally. |
