In the last two decades the Nigeria military has been fighting internal wars on several fronts. The battle against kidnappings, banditry and militia groups got messier in the last few years. The recent killings of our soldiers in Aba few days ago when the terrorists declared a sit-at-home to celebrate their Biafra Day or whatever was avoidable. Prior to that day, the IPOB had warned students sitting for the ongoing WAEC exams to remain in their houses and the schools shut. They also sent a warning to a university VC. They were trying to avoid a bloodbath. I had expected our military to immediately respond to this threat in a show of force with battalion of soldiers and armoured tanks parading all the streets in the south East. I had expected to see the Tucano fighter jets in combat ready mode to forestall any breakdown of law and order. I remember President Olusegun Obasanjo. These IPOB miscreants enjoy the support of the locals who cheers them whenever they go rampaging on the street on a killing spree. These evil people do not reneg on their threats or warnings to perpetrate evil. Besides, this is not the first time they have been killing our soldiers. The rate at which these terrorists kill our soldiers in the south east should have put our military on red alert that there will be a confrontation. Our military has been demystified by these IPOB because they have been killing our soldiers without any collateral damage. If the Odi treatment had been applied this nonsense would have stopped. In my own opinion as a civilian without any military training, it's high the military prioritize the safety of their personnel in any operations. Killers of our soldiers must not go unpunished. There must be consequences for such actions that will send a strong warning to the perpetrators that their action will invite unparalleled retaliation to their community. Killing our soldiers in an unprovoked manner like must stop. May the souls of our departed gallant soldiers rest in peace. |

nikky5:You're not wise. That would have been an express way to grant them freedom. Why declare war on people for making a decision and why do you believe that the killing was done by them? We learn and unlearn. That's the meaning of school. |

Someone said he wants to remain indoors, and you suggest his house should be mowed down and his neighborhood scattered? Who is a terrorist between the two of you? |

You're simply an enemy of ndi Igbo. How do you know that the killers are IPOB members? Answer this question with convincing facts and evidence. |

Why are Yorubas only worried about insurgency in the East? You see them opening countless threads on just one UGM activity in the East while Bandits and Boko Haram butcher soldiers on a daily basis in the north. What is special about Igbo insurgency? I think every Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani man has this underlying fear for the igbos since after the civil war. You are suggesting Odi treatment as solution? Lol... Look let me educate you. The Nigerian military as presently constituted can't solve insurgency problems in the country because these guys engages them in guerrilla warfare. Nigerian soldiers are only good in conventional battle, that's why the succeeded in Liberia and Sierra Leon and flopped with Boko Haram since 2009. Guerrilla warfare requires lots of intelligence and tactical expertise which the military presently lacks, their best bet is to import mechinaeries from countries with expertise and experience in guerrilla war. Your Odi suggestion is a joke, it will even fuel the insugency the more because military continuous attack on the masses will provide the ground to easily recruit more foot soldiers for the insugency. |

chnnmfl:They think Aba is Odi, every time they are praying for collateral damage instead of fishing out the culprits , the dead soldiers are igbo , the location is igbo land but the people crying more than the berieved are yorubas, tufiakwa. If this happened in Niger they would have carried on with their deaf and dumb imbecility of seeing no evil , speaking no evil. Are these folks cursed. If what is happening in Aba is too much for Nigeria why not think out of box and ask for plebiscite |

1. Impose 24hr curfew on the entire Aba metropolis. Nobody steps out on the pain of death. Shey dem like to obey sit at home order from terrorists ? 2. Cut power supply to the entire city . 3. Block all major highways linking to anywhere in the SE. Nothing comes or goes out. 4. This is for their own good so that they won't say army is targeting civilians. 5. Comb the forests and kill anything that moves. |

Why are the Afonjaas hibernating and spitting saliva everywhere. Anyway una Zoo forces collected wotoporiously that day. Next time if they hear Biafran Remembrance day, they will jejely sit at home like others. No one is talking about the Soldiers and Policemen killed in other locations for not observing the Sit-at-home or is it cos the one at Aba was videoed? Are you aware 5 of the Zoo soldiers were killed at Umunze, 3 Policemen were killed at Iyiowa Odekpe Police station (Pokobros Police station). You guys should cry harder cos una tears dey give me joy. Anyway may the souls of the Security agents killed all rest in peace. I hate the killings but they should also stop killing innocent protesters next time. My fear is that the good ones among the Security agents are most times affected. |

OhuDealer:Abeg, shut up! Why don't you move down to the east and start the massacre. This why the country is messed up, because everything to you people is tribe and hate. No sensible thought process. As soon as you hear it's Igbo you call for soldiers to move in and start murdering innocent people. This is the same people you share country with and you are all black. Instead of finding ways to solve the security challenges you are more preoccupied with how Ndigbo can be murdered. You are satanic! |

The show of force shown by the military when they invaded Nnamdi Kanu’s house in 2016 led to all these. Force alone cannot solve every issue. The Nigerian army is too predictable when things like this happen. They’re always out for reprisal the next days and innocent suffer most. The same way Boko Haram was mishandled and it snowballed into terrorism is the same way IPOB issue has been handled. Let for me, I’ll say let’s do a referendum; those that want to remain as Nigeria can, those that one to have their own nation should go ahead. That way we know what is left to deal with. There should be no need for a forced unity. USSR broke into several countries and Russia still remains today the biggest and strongest amongst the USSR states. |
I Condemn The Aba Attack, However We Are Not Scared Of The Nigerian Army • The 3.29% Turnout At The Aba North/south Bye-election Is Worrisome • Enugu Killings: What IPOB Told Me – Chidoka • 2 • 3 • 4
Unidentified’ Aircraft Over Presidential Villa Known, NAMA Dismisses RADAR Cover • Minimum Wage. Are We Progressing Or Regressing • Igbos Should Beg Obi To Support A Northern Candidate In 2027
