There are better things for the police to focus on. How many people today can sing that anthem, most can't even sing the former one talk less of their favorite songs. Dolapo should focus on more important issues instead of flexing muscles in this hard economy

Is this a joke or something??,,,so no fundamental human right again??
You don't have any fundamental human rights to break the law of your country. It pays to do quick research before you speak sometimes.

We all know it's already a law.
Weather we like it or not, we must respect the adopted heritage of Nigeria.

To talk of this, this new adopted national anthem is emotional. I'm always having goosebumps when I hear it... I still don't know why.
Some of you are so so annoyingly myopic in your reasoning, and worst still you are too stupidly docile to be considered reasonable.
Tinubu has always said he doesn't like Arise o come patriot.
And because he is president he decides to change it. Is national anthem a personal desire of an individual? An issue as that is always put under public hearing where Nigerians and stakeholders will have a forum to discuss and agree on it. A National issue it is never a thing for an individual to decide. But most of you supporters of Tinubu are so blind to your evil that you have never seen anything wrong with him even when he has ruined the economy to make hunger want to kill you people. Anything Tinubu does or say is correct for you people.
All these silly Emilokan mentality of Tinubu on National issues must stop.
Brainless zombies.

No one is above the law. They can talk of rejecting it or refuse to sing it. But the day they'll be found singing another national anthem other than the one approved, then you'll see their folly being treated accordingly.

Rubbish

I blame the school for forcing those innocent students to sing an anthem(whether old or new) for a yeye country that'll be of no benefit to their future

Every police office that comes to arrest should first of all recite the national anthem before the offenders to judge his or herself
Re: Dolapo Badmus Warns School For Reciting Former National Anthem by Nobody: 6:33am On Jun 02, 2024
undecided undecided

Just Imagine, instead of this police woman to take a look at her surroundings & fish out true hardened & sophisticated criminals. Instead na private school proprietor she wan fight huh

What's even wrong with these people, YOU CAN'T FORCE PATRIOTISM ON ANYBODY. IN FACT her actions would probably make the owner hate the anthem & Nigeria some more. No wonder ALOT of people dislike the police

Please all of you should come here and learn the new national item o

Nigeria, we hale thee,

Our own dear native land,

Though tribe and tongue may different,

In brotherhood, we stand,

Nigerians all, and proud to serve

Our suffering Motherland.

Our flag shall be a sinmbol

That truth and justice rain,

In peace or battle honour’d,

And this we count as gain,

To hand on to our children

A banner without stain.

O God of all creation,

Grant this our one request,

Help us to build a nation

Where no man is oppressed,

And so with peace and plenty

Nigeria may be blessed.

Many of the teachers in those schools aged between 20 and 50 never learnt or sang the re-introduced national anthem throughout their time as students. They will have to learn it afresh. A window of say, 1 month should be given for them to learn it or those who sang it last in 1978 to re-learn it.
