Breaking News: The wife of Late Major General Philip Effiong, Mrs. Josephine Effiong is dead. Josephine Effiong was the wife of General Philip Effiong, the first Vice-President and the second President of the Republic of Biafra from 1967-1970. Late Ma Josephine Effiong, 88, wife of Obong (Major General) Philip Efiong Akankang Ibiono-Ibom (18 November 1925 - 6 November 2003) who was the first Vice President and the second and last President of the Republic of Biafra from 1967 to 1970. He served meritoriously until the last minute with General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. Her maternal ancestry is Igbo from Ukwuani area in Delta State while her paternal ancestry is Welsh from Wales, UK. She married Philip Effiong from Ibiono Ibom in Akwa Ibom State in 1956. The wife of a true soldier,the wife of a great man of valor,the wife of the peoples hero,even at death we respect you and your tenacity of purpose,you stood by your husband all through the war,you had opportunity to go back to wales your birth place but rather you stood by the people in one belief,in one strength,fighting for liberation from the shackles of neo imperialistic agents using fellow blacks to kill what could have been the greatest black nation on planet earth,blackism and pan-Africanism became the victims！even inspite of debilitating bombs by European mercenaries,you stayed back knowing that non of those bombs can hold back the time,non of those bombs can stop an idea whose time has come.
