DaddyCoool:they will accept it with too much pressures from Nlc and Nigeria masses. You can see the emergency meeting they quickly organised with the workers unions here. The real negotiation will start from 100k and above. The current Nlc and Tuc means business and they are fighting the war with the Fg well. |

press9jatv:Pressure from the masses. Very important. Because a natural crook like BAT can easily blackmail, bribe, or thuggishly intimidate individual labour leaders

NLC should have taken strike action against the increase in PMS, diesel, and the dollar, not fighting for Increase in salary |

This is the way to go! It's always better to jaw-jaw than to war-war! The NLC and the TUC must be able to think outside of the box. Rather than making unrealistic demands, Labour should be able to assist Government in providing solutions to bringing down the prices of goods and services and not just salary increases. Again, the employers can't be jackbooted into accepting what's not affordable and sustainable. Till date, not all States Governments have been able to pay the N30,000 minimum wage. If the Naira can be strengthened in its value, N60,000 or slightly above should be able to take the average worker home. No employer can afford to use all its resources in paying just salaries and wages in the midst of other equally competing challenges. Labour needs to be more patriotic and not cut off their nose in order to spite their face. @hotseat |
