depends where you are and who is doing it. if it is an excellent dental practice, they can fix it without removing it, issue is that can dental practice in Nigeria be trusted?

I have had this kind to the extent that the premolar separated entirely looking like two different tooth....

Had to go and remove them because I did the filling or crown but still had the teeth break ....

So O.P, is better you go for extraction , you may even be amazed how there won't be any gap after because my own, I couldn't see that gap again although I did it when I was say 15-17years

If you're based in Abuja, I'd taken you to someone that will give you a treatment.

I just came out from a severe tooth issues and this guy gave me a simple treatment and today I can smile again.

A professional dentist/endodontist will likely prescribe a root canal procedure.

Please avoid quacks.

Extract that tooth else the whole gum is gone. If you fill it, you may regret it. It is like using cement to fill a spot where there is a quicksand.

Omo tooth with hole the pain is excruciating. I remember when my brother removed his tooth with hole, the guy reach hell fire come back. He did not eat for days and his jaw got swollen with severe headache.

I don't wish my enemy tooth ache.

If your kid brother is in Lagos, let him go to Federal Dental Hospital at Lagos Island(1 Broad street Lagos). The dentists there are ok

I was not contesting what you said. I even called it professional myself.

Please go to a dentist and fill up the hole. The moment the decay gets to your pulp, pain will start and you won't be able to fill it again rather extraction

Visit a dentist. That a tooth has a hole or it's causing pain doesn't necessarily mean it must be extracted. A procedure called Root canal therapy (RCT) can be done on the tooth and the hole filled up. There will be no more pain and the tooth will remain in the mouth. It is better than extraction.

PS: Visit a dentist, not a dental technologist or dental therapist. Some of these people claim to be dentists but they are not. Be sure it is a dentist that attends to your brother.

Yes, its possible to still safe some teeth that looks like this after doing proper examination and investigation ( test).

Pls don't extract it... That was my mistake then... My right 7 was extract some months ago.... Later went for another... But was later fill up... Since then... no more pain

.... my advice is that just fill it up.... very easy don't extract it

The best option is to extract the tooth, to ease his crucial pain.

If it gets totally broken, they will still extract the root and it will be more painful. So, just allow him extract it and he will be fine.

Stop giving false information. The bolded is incorrect.

I'm in my early 40's and all my teeth are intact and without issues save for the extracted molar that didn't grow back because it's a permanent teeth. And, my last extraction was done 20+ years ago while I was in secondary school.

The premolar that was extracted when I was very young grew back.
