Yes it can. A procedure called Root Canal Therapy will be carried out. It involves removing the sensitive parts of the tooth (the pulp) and filling it up with a substance called amalgam. After this is done, the enamel will need to be covered with a substance called crown.

I had the procedure done in 2017. It saves the tooth.

I just told him what was keeping my tooth removal at bay.My crater isn't as big but can be painful

I can't afford to lose another tooth. I have lost 3 already if I am correct.

I think the best option should be extraction so that whatever is eating that tooth doesn't crawl to the others. I'm Not a medical personnel though

yes, they first do a RCT on it, root canal treatment, for maybe 3weeks each session week or more. When the pain has totally vanished they now determine if it can be filled and crowned. If he removes the teeth, the bacteria will enter another tooth and before he is 40 all his teeth would have been gone...

Pls don't extract it... That was my mistake then... My right 7 was extract some months ago.... Later went for another... But was later fill up... Since then... no more pain

.... my advice is that just fill it up.... very easy don't extract it

Same thing with me. I had similar problem and God knows it hurts like hell. i almost removed it but i was discouraged that years later it will likely move to another tooth.

First i killed the worms and stopped the decay with salt and very hot water directly to the spot using a pipe the after i use fresh garlic mixed with turmeric. chew it or grind it and place it on the spot for like 3 days just like this guy said. The pain went away miraculously. Now i chew with it perfectly without pain. I just make sure i clean that particular spot thoroughly especially before bed.

Root Canal is well proven to cause internal rot, and consequently unexplainable routine inflammation.

Do not do root canal, extract the tooth. Further for those of you who already have a root canal, better go for CT Scan check up, to ensure your Jaws and facial bones are not rotting internally.

Just chew raw garlic in that spot and leave it all night.

Do it for at least 3 days.

lolz. But garlic can't fill up that hole in just 3 days. It only slows down or halt d microbial activities. If at all the teeth will need a longer time to regenerate

Sounds like you did pulp capping probably not RCT. Dentist try as much as possible to do less invasive treatments first. RCT is indicated if the infection has gotten to the pulp even then pulpotomy can be done depending on the extent but the prognosis of pulpotomy is not as good as RCT, but its still ensures parts of the pulp is saved. But pulpotomy is usually indicated more in children sha when the teeth haven't completed apexogenesis. Most likely for adult RCT will be done to reduce number of visits and future expenses if pulpotomy fails which is very possible

Yours is just at its earliest stage, and will eventually progress to develop a cavity if you don't halt the gradual process

I thought is when you remove the decayed tooth, that is when you stop the bacteria from spreading.
