You guys can be deceiving yourself. The nlc has gone to negotiate minimum wage of 60 for just federal civil servant. Many state will not pay 60k and private sector and nothing will happen. Then many federal civil servant don't deserve the 60k because they don't do anything in thr offices.Many Nigerian on the street work harder than them including Saturdays. And still don't earn 6ok in a month. Government need to sack half of those busy doing nothing workers in those offices just cutting corners and collecting bribe for every service

in reality nothing might really happen if fg don't go printing money to pay. What would happen is that both private sector, state and local government would not pay the minimum wage and nothing would really happen. If they where forced to pay then their cost of production would shoot up thereby affecting prices of goods which would then make the new minimum wage almost useless. If you had unemployment rate below 3% and inflation below 2% minimum wage wouldn't be an issue in fact most jobs would be outsource to less developing countries because people can easily change jobs because the economy is productive and developed. If the federal government had signaled by cutting it cost of governance it would have sent positive signaling even if it might not really change much at the short term.

I don't understand, how why do fg need to print money to pay salary? They one printed last year, what happened to it? The previous ones in circulation what happened to it?

Money can't be destroyed. Money is not the paper we use to buy stuff. It the serial number on the paper. If the paper get destroyed, we can reprint it. If we don't want, we can use it electronically for transaction.

And how do increasing salary affect cost of production?

Earning doesn't affect cost of production. It can only affect demand and supply which also depend on other factors.
