If I were Putin I would announce that Russia has given permission to Houthis and other radical groups to strike deep inside US mainland and NATO countries.

But like Putin said, Russia has it's own special plans for Ukraine and all these talks of striking inside Russia is just to distract or deviate them from the plan.

Thirdly, the US warned israel on alienating the civilian population in this kind of warfare, but they chose not to listen and believed their own hype of being 'god's unbeatable army'. The US would have done better than israel is doing in Gaza because they would have tried to win over the civilians and tried to alienate Hamas, as well as institute a process of transition...israel has done none of such

Instead, the war has so far been a political disaster, military failure, PR disaster, diplomatic disaster, almost a total disaster for israel's image and standing in the world

Having a history of combat doesn't Pay too much cognisance, especially since we have seen that hamas have adapted well, this guy's are not just your regular extremist groups, they seems to have gotten a lot of training from Iran, we saw them use gliders to ATTACK Israeli settlement, and if reports are to be believed they seems to like to operate from within civilian spaces, also they have also gotten some serious anti tank weapons and training. So having a history of warfare would hardly change the course of the battle

Such wars are difficult to manage, and the civilian casualties are always on the high side,
Many extremist groups tend to use such scenario to attract lots of people to become sympathetic to my thier cause, but this just the way it is and that won't stop the iDF from doing what needs to be done
Just the way pain and grief is filling hamas tanks is the same way pain and grief suffered during the October attacks filled the iDF ranks and started this bloody war

In your third point, it would have been hard to try to mark out hamas out of the civilians in Gaza, this group keep operating around civilians making it hard to be able to make a distinct between civilians and belligerent hamas fighters. And the iDF isn't even doing enough to mitigate civilians death
Such wars takes a toll on military planners and IDF is currently under pressure to bring back the hostages and defeat hamas the USA tried to pacify the Afghan people, and lost, the iDF seems won't be taking the same path


IDF has lost some uts reputation, the country a whole has lost some it's credibility, lost Sims allies, but BIBi has said this is price the Israeli government are prepared to pay to get rid of the hamas problem once and for all
