A man's attempt to steal a pair of jeans from a local boutique was thwarted when he noticed a CCTV camera watching him.

The man, in his late 30s, was allowed to try on a pair of jeans. After putting on the jeans, he quickly pulled on another pair of trousers over them to conceal the theft.

Just as he was done, he looked up and saw a CCTV camera staring directly at him. Startled, he retraced his steps and removed the stolen jeans quickly.

The way the sales girl looked up as if she knew something was happening. She indirectly led his eyes to the cctv as if to say when you finish we go watch the cctv together to see wetin you steal.

His attempt to steal the jean was "frustrated" or "prevented" or "foiled" by the CCTV camera.

You just saw a.video of a thief stealing and wearing a pair of trousers a d you swallow the narrative that the theft was thwarted.
Common, use your grey matter
For all you know, that was just an after-the-act cctv footage of how the thief successfully executed his plot.

To thwart is to avert, prevent or stop.
Where in the video did you see the theft being stopped or the theft being averted.
You can choose not to think or use your cranium by swallowing the misleading headline, but allow those of us that want to look at things critically do so.
