After the Nigerian Civil War ended in 1970, people were scrambling to rebuild their lives. Fortunately, I had left my village just three days after the war ended and came down to Onitsha, where God immediately started blessing me.

The money I had made from the trips, I gave to my parents without keeping any for myself. From 6 am the next day, I was running back and forth between Onitsha and Enugu, making good money.

From there, I started travelling to China, Japan, and Hong Kong to import goods, and my business kept growing, ultimately making me a millionaire by the age of 21.

Read it again. He said that when people were depositing the old currency notes that the Igbos had, so they can exchange them for the new currency notes, he noticed that the bank officials were not counting the money. So if an Igbo person brings ten thousand pound of the old money to open an account, the bank will open the account with 20 pounds instead 10 thousand. The bank will eventually pay the account holder only 20 pounds of the new money.

What he did was legal. He opened 20 bank accounts and distributed his entire life savings across the 20 accounts. He ended up getting only 20 pounds from each account, as against his entire life savings.

This is one evil metted out to the Igbo. However, like Phoenix, they rose to become the most successful and most enterprising ethnic group in Africa.

Mumu, u do not understand him....den only 20pounds were given to anyone who had dated much or above in the bank..so him.having alot of money which is about to b useless to him...he found 28 person which a bank account or even any hope of having money in the account if opened for them...he opened with their identity, lodged in his money which in turn was made worthless and then 20pounds was paid back to owners of the accts as a compensation...

So because he owns the funds they withdrew for him ndhe settled the a Lil token then continued his life

Not all worth millions but majority of them worth far more than the wicked policy of paying them 20 pounds flat, including this very man that just stated in his story that he was making 16 pounds per day by using his car to convey passengers from Onitsha to Enugu immediately after the civil war ended.

He opened 28 accounts but I'm sure he still got far below what he worth as of then, for someone who was making 16 pounds per day.

Moreover, there is hardly a billionaire who doesn't 1 or 2 dirty dealing that skyrocketed him

Before the war, there were millions of igbo people in the civil service. In fact there was shortage of staff up north due to no education that igbos had to fill those areas so the northern Civil service could operate. Giving igbos only 20 naira means their salaries, pensions, gratuities and properties all over Nigeria were stolen. It was the theft that made people like awolowo and even Nigeria become rich. But look at the regions that stole the wealth, they are worse off than the igbo region. High poverty, out-of-school children, unemployment, high rare of beggars, low per capita income etc. You know why? Because thieves can never share their loot for the good of the people
