Multi choice is doing all these nonsense because there's no alternative. If not for live football games,I won't be spending 15700 for compact package monthly..
That is how it is when there is no other body to compete..
This was what bolt was doing us till Indrive came to safe us small..

Same way MTN started b4 glo and Airtel came to reduce prices..

But DStv should be banned self..

Yesterday we buried my hometown guy South Africa guys killed.. same SA owes DStv, they should just leave ..

We can survive without em

Which kind of injustice is this, when Dangote increased the price of cement from 5000 to 10000 did you people ordered him to revert to old price, electricity tariff was increased by more the 300% where were you people, when every item in the market were increased due to subsidy gone madness, who ordered any one to reverse the increase, is DSTV operating outside our economy, the increase in price level does not affecting their own cost of production?. Let us be considerate, or is it because the company is foreign own firm? You people will be wasting our money on foreign jamborees and tell us you are looking for investors, is this the way we will treat them. Who will be willing to come and invest under this hostile environment.

In south Africa the billing regime: Pay per view is different from what they do in Nigeria where you pay for a full month whether Nepa give you light or not.

I no understand

I find this grossly unfair. The is a private business and customers who cannot afford the subscription are free to downgrade or leave.

Premier league and other TV rights are very expensive. Nigerian TV companies don’t have these rights because they can’t afford to pay. If you doubt this, go and ask the late HiTV

These rights are paid for in Dollars and everyone knows Naira has lost at least 100% of its value in the last one year alone!

DSTV has been struggling in financial performance and this sort of irrational action can make the company decide to shut down and if they do , thousands of Nigerians will lose their means of livelihood

Consumers have rights and the company doesn’t have rights?
They don't have the right to increase prices for the fun of it.

Fun of it? As compared to foodstuffs and every other thing?

The tribunal is funny enough to fine them N150m for challenging their jurisdiction. 😄😄😄😄😄😄

Never knew it was illegal to challenge jurisdiction. This kangaroo judgement will be thrown out into the dustbin where it belongs.

No smoke without fire. I hope they're not about to chase Multichoice out of the country with their bad policies. There's virtually no product in this country right now where the price hasn't skyrocketed or tripled the price before this administration. I find this a xenophobic attack on SA
Who cares? They can go if they want to. No be dem dey maltreat our folks for their country?

Misplaced priorities or Misplaced judgement,
U can't impose a price on a private business unless they are taking their inputs from government.

They have their own cost to service.

At the underlying issue they know our courts no longer carry the kind of aura it is supposed to have.
The political robbers have made the courts weak and powerless and without principle.
Hence companies with money and some form of dominance are won't to disobey court order or take them with levity.

Nonsense. We caused this nonsense by ourselves. What would 1month sub hep in the first place. Give us pay per view at a fair price as it's done in other countries.

Lolz well written. But I do not expect a lot of people to understand this. Dstv is not govt owned, even electricity bill for band A has tripped. People will be shouting dstv should leave lol, let them chase them away and let's see which Nigerian company will take over and do a better job at cheaper fairs. Glo is a very good example. Hitv with all their noises couldn't sustain even though they had poor picture qualities.

If u want something premium, u have to pay. U can afford u can downgrade or pick another provider.

Even the govt cannot give us anything at a fair price. I used to buy 14 units of electricity for 1k. Now that 1k can only get me 4.9 units. That's x3 of what I used to pay, just imagine if it was managed by a foreign company.
