The oldest hospital in Igbo land Iyi Enu Mission Hospital at Ikenga Ogidi, Anambra State now University on the Niger Teaching Hospital is the oldest mission hospital in Igbo land. It was founded in 1907 by the Church Missionary Society (CMS). My father is an ex-Biafran Soldier. He was treated at this hospital when he was shot in the hand during the war He later returned to the front after receiving excellent treatment at this facility 14 Likes 2 Shares |

It seems the church has about the best maintenance culture and reason why most establishments in the East,still maintains an outstanding looks and panache.I also think this is so because the Catholic and Anglican church has very huge investments in the East and invariably have imbibed that culture of maintenance in igbos. 9 Likes 1 Share |

You forgot to add that it was Peter Obi that rebuilt this hospital and equipped it. For those who say he only equipped catholic hospitals… this hospital is owned by the Anglican Church. The guy did marvelous things in equipping hospitals and schools. |
