The effects of all these will be felt next year. Till now, farming has not started in the East because of herdsmen attack. Only God knows what next

Is it by force to eat eggs?
Here in the north, some northerners are using awara in place of meat and fish. I have eaten it and I can testify it makes sense.
u are not making sense if u think hyper inflation will not creep in if govt pay such amount as minimum wage!

Once there is demand for a direct substitute for a commodity. The price of that close substitute starts shooting up till it level up with the price of the main commodity. The price of that your Awara won't remain the same in the upcoming days.
It works both ways. If there is a greater demand for Awara (whatever it is), the price of eggs would fall.
The egg seller will be forced to reduce his price to remain competitive.

When the farmer enters my office,I'll do the same.

So stop scaring me with non - sense.

But wait a while, where were the governors when Tinubu said he was committed to paying above 60000k?

The governors should have even motivated Tinubu, but run "rogue regime" in their various states.

It's obvious lot of people don't understand economics and have no experience how people run businesses.

Workers washed makes part of the running cost, if those wages increase, my running cost will increase too and my profit will do down or even enter losses, the options are two, reduces numbers of workers meaning more people wil be unemployed or Increase the cost of your product to cater for the increase in wages.

Previously, increase in fuel prices and increase in cost of importing raw materials were the major factors that lead to Increase in inflation, a significant increase in workers salaries will also increase inflation because prices of goods will go up

Solution is tackle fuel prices and improve the currency exchange rate.

Bro, you can see the illiterates we share a country with. In fact I was praying for govt to agree to NLC's 400k demand so that I will watch and laugh at the suffering that it will cost. When people are buying a loaf of bread for 20k we go hear am.
Rex211:
Comments here are very funny sha. When the minimum wage is increased, you lot will still expect the farmer to increase the wage paid to his workers whilst expecting him to maintain same price thus maintaining same profit made on sales. How do you lots even think in this country. Erryman just dey think of his own basic needs without critically analysing what will favour errybody.

Total profit made when minimum wage was 30k was 100k
Pays his two workers 60k, takes 30k himself and plows back 10k into the business.

Later your increase the minimum wage to 60k and you expect him to maintain the same 100k profit ??
Una normal for this country sef ??

This FG's media blackmail will not work, when you were spending recklessly on frivolities it did not increase inflation abi? Nonsense!!!

Even garri is not a necessity undecided and obviously not only one person sells it 😉
And that is why if you decide to sell your garri at one million per cup, no one will buy. Ultimately, market forces determine the price.

The farmer is senseless.
The cost of things are already stable based on the removal of oil subsidy.
So, why increase the cost of foodstuffs again based on salary increase?
Does it make sense?
Nigerians are the cause of their problems.

This is propaganda from FG,

the Egg farmer has forgotten that feed sellers too will alsi show him atarodo peper with feed prices, then the maize farmers, wheat farmers, the groundnut farmers too will too their prices
You are just contradicting yourself. If you know that all the farmers will increase their prices then how is it proaganda?
Re: Minimum Wage 'wahala' Would You Blame This Farmer? (pix) by lafuria1(m): 11:39am On Jun 08, 2024
When you increase minimum wage to as hight has 250k, it means the lowest person in a company that employs 25 workers and above will earn 250k.

Imagine your kids school, the teachers salary is Increased to 250k as minimum as proposed by labour, what do you think will happen to school fees , it will go up significantly and so the ripple effect where every business will Increase their prices to keep up and we are back to zero, no value.

Focus should be to seriously tackle the problem that caused the current Inflation, subsidy removal and floating of the Naira.

Increased spending power = increased demand for goods and services = increased prices for goods and services. Its logical.

undecided if we talk now they Wil say we worship the whites. Why wud a country be using the same template for minimum wage. USA uses different templates for minimum wage same as in Germany. My sister in Indiana told me their own minimum wage is $12 per hour while in California it's $16. It shows that each state pays it's own minimum wage based on it's economy potential. But in Nigeria the govt is fixing same minimum wage for a worker in Ekiti or zamfara and the ones in Lagos or Rivers. C'mon. Let each state fix it's own minimum wage. But before that can be effective,we must return to Regional govt.

Mk we dey play dey go until then.
Sonoflagos is scared of regional government because hunger will disfigure his spinal cord in 3 days and he will be homeless as lagos indigenes will pursue him to his mango tree in oshogbo
