I think you need to read again. He said he has not received any salary since he assumed office. As a matter of fact, he even donates his salary.

Politicians will NEVER sign off on that.

The ONLY reason they got into Politics is to LOOT and LOOT and LOOT. Then when you think they are done, they'll LOOT some more.

A state governor that has done NOTHING for his state in 3 years would appoint MORE THAN 200 special assistants.

A senator that has NOT sponsored a bill in years would travel in a convoy of 6-7 cars. His entourage are wined and dined on public fund. Then he'll still get money for some hardship allowance.

Politicians EVERYWHERE are vessels of corruption and conduits for the rot in every society. Sane societies just try to curb their excesses with strong institutions and a solid constitution.

But Nigerians GLORIFY them. They defend them because of tribalism and ignorance. So they'll continue to get fleeced until kingdom come.
You nailed it bro

For once, Soludo is making sense but government must increase the minimum wage to at least 100k, a bag of rice is 75k already and rice harvesting season is still far away while our leaders squanders money on daily basis.
Harvest season has nothing to do with price. It was same lie PMB told us that prices would come down when we support local production which sadly, never happened.

When Southeast have someone like this gentle and humble man to present as president, they present a fraud.

I have said this before and still saying it again if they want presidency, then they should give us an upright individual and see if he won't be generally accepted

Prof Sir, you have well spoken now your warning to Tinubu not approve living wage for workers yesterday was highly criticised, but you spoke well this morning. Not only reduced their salaries the flamboyant life style of going in conveys of 30 to 40 cars must be discontinued, also the rate at which government officials inflated the cost of contract in this country is alarming, which make the cost of contract in Nigeria to be highest in Africa, even take as an example, NNPC is claiming they spend about 21 Dollars to drill a barren of crude, while the average cost in Saudi is about 5 Dollars why? These are some corrupt practises that drain our resources. Prof. Soludo should help appeal to his colleagues governors and Federal Government to limit this waste in government spending.

RabbleRouser:
Governor of Anambra state, Charles Soludo has called for elected officials to start earning minimum wage, highlighting the urgent financial crisis facing Nigeria.

Speaking on Wednesday at a special edition of The Platform, an event organized by The Covenant Nation to promote national development, Soludo emphasised that Nigeria is financially strained.

The event coincided with the celebration of Nigeria’s 25 years of uninterrupted democracy.

Soludo pointed out that Nigeria’s economic woes are exacerbated by the extravagant lifestyles of government officials, which are sustained at the expense of the nation’s wealth.

He proposed that these officials should be paid the minimum wage to understand the harsh realities faced by ordinary citizens, stressing that the current system is in a state of denial about the nation’s financial condition.

“Let’s come clean and straight with Nigerians. Nigeria is very poor and broke but the lifestyle of government and government officials does not show it, especially with the obscene flamboyance in public display,” Soludo said.

“The poor are hungry and impatient, let’s not annoy them more with our insensitivity.

“In this case, I agree with reverend father Mbaka, who said elected governors should also earn minimum wage. I agree that we should be paid that so that we can feel that as well.

“In Anambra, I have not received a kobo as salary since I assumed office. I have donated my salary to the state.

“It is symbolic. It is not much. I think generally, the system is in denial. There must be some signaling, it is just the symbolism of this.”

Soludo called for a new code of conduct for public officeholders to enhance fiscal prudence while performing the core duties for which they were elected.

“That is why I proposed reinventing the new code of conduct for public officers,” he said.

“For the federal government, the actual projecting revenue comes to about N6,160 per Nigerian, per month.

“For the states, except Lagos and a few states, most states have revenues amounting to less than N3,000 per resident, per month.

“It is from this shares per citizen that we are expected to provide all the infrastructure, debt service, pay salaries and pensions, build schools and provide everything.

“For each of our wasteful spending, let’s be conscious about the fact how many citizen share we are squandering. Once we lose this consciousness about the public trust we bear, the society dies irredeemably.”

This man is using combination of Law 12, 32, 43 and 45 0f 48 Laws of Power to fool us.

Law 12: Use Selective Honesty and Generosity to Disarm Your Victim: Use honesty and generosity to disarm and distract others from your schemes. Even the most suspicious people respond to acts of kindness, leaving them vulnerable to manipulation.

Law 32: Play to People’s Fantasies: Conjure up alluring fantasies in contrast to the gloomy realities of life, and people will flock to you. Spin the right tale and wealth and power will follow.

Law 43: Work on the Hearts and Minds of Others: Win others’ hearts and minds. Play on their emotions and weaknesses, and appeal to their self-interest. You’ll have them eating out of your hand, and they’ll be less likely to turn on you.

Law 45: Preach the Need for Change, But Never Reform Too Much at Once: Talk change but move slowly. Evoke revered history and cloak your changes in familiar rituals. Too much change is unsettling and will spark backlash.

Because of insecurity. In principle he was clearly right.
He wasn't right as some areas that did not experience insecurity like parts of ebony and Anambra just hiked the prices. There was no price control to ensure it was successful. The farmers just took advantage of that and determined their own price.
