Why buy water from tankers in the first place? Lekki life is purely fake. I love my mainland life. Our water is pure, land is dry and electricity is regular. What else do I need? Security is top nitch

Lekki he meant. Common Lagos Island gets good water and have pipe borne water running into majority of the vicinities. I don't understand why LASG and her environmental team haven't planned pipe borne water system to be introduced into the peninsula.

Lekki was never ever to be developed .

It's below sea level and adjacent to the ocean and is a natural wet land serving as a sand barrier reef to protect the mainland and VI from ocean surge .

It's basically a shifting bed of sand.

The sand filling of lekki saw to the erosion of the bar beach in VI.

Now that bar beach has been reclaimed by Eko Atlantic , the sea waves are now moving back to the lekki peninsula and eroding the coastlines there.

As per water, you can't drill a borehole in lekki because it's an extension of both the Atlantic shelf and the Lagos salt water lagoon.

Drilling boreholes in lekki is tantamount to boring through a salt bed under the ocean.

Secondly , lekki being below sea level also means there is no way to handle waste through conventional soak-aways. That means all those boreholes are actually piping fecal matter from congested urbanized dwellings.
I spent a night with a friend who stays on lekki and he told me not to use the shower and provided me with water he had bought from tanker vendors in another tank outside the apartment. The water from the borehole was blackish and obviously a combo of sea and soak away water that was only used for flushing, mopping and washing cars. We got home back one night pissed drunk and I forgot about the water problem and showered away. Let's just say I developed the worst skin infection after that and a bout of cholera from brushing with it.

Lekki was never meant to be developed and settled. When we were young back then, we use to do street racing from VI to ijebu lekki and by God it was so beautiful compared to the cramped lekki of today.

Moral of my rants: don't get drunk in lekki and take a shower afterwards.

If government can’t employ the experts to make ordinary tap water available for everyone, then why do we need to pay taxes to the government

Lekki is overrated and some parts are even razz. I'm sure the good estates or areas know how they get clean water. Who bathes with pure water?

There's lagoon water everywhere in lekki axis but the water is brown. Lagos state water corporation are really sleeping - why can't we have treatment plants in strategic places in that axis?

As one who grew up (childhood and teenage years) on the island (1004). And as one who lived there until 2009 (Lekki 1/ Argungi) I can tell you that the first thing I hate about living in that axis is the water. The smell, the taste and how it affects stuff

LMAO! So true. I did it when I first moved to a neighborhood that had transformer issue. The top part of your wrist will start aching you after a while.
