I witnessed a morally shaken event yesterday night in Abuja. I live in Lagos, but my work involves traveling to various parts of the country for delivery. We were three in the truck heading to Guduwa, but we don't actually know the road better. We were using Google Maps and, at the same time, asking people for directions. We were on this road that links the underpass to Abuja City Gate. I saw a vehicle, and I saw four men approaching the vehicle. I wanted to jump down and ask for directions, but before our truck came to stop, another scene played out. Well, it was around some minute past 8 p.m., and I thought the four men that approached the vehicle were fighting the occupants of the vehicle. They were like three in the car, too. At first, I thought they were fighting with the occupants of the vehicle, but when I looked closely, the four men were holding knives, and they were violently stabbing the occupants of the vehicle, most especially the driver and the person besides him. As he was resisting, he was continually stabbed. We could not even wait to help as not to compromise our safety as well; no one could stop to help these people. It was just replaying in my head. If this can happen in FCT, then no one is safe in the country. I don't know who the occupants of that SUV are, but I strongly pray for Dey Service's response to yesterday's attack. If you need to move that late, don’t stop on the highway, especially for anyone you don’t know, and, as much as I can say, avoid night trips |

You came here to whine like the coward you are. What actions did you take to assist the victims? Creating this thread serves what purpose, exactly |

hisgrace090:What of the OP who is a follower, what did he do? Any small thing, we call out our leaders. Isnt it followers that became leaders? The OP didnt apprehend, didnt distract them, didnt call the cops, he practically did nothing other than to post a story. |

shortgun:Where do u live before u could call anyone a coward? Here in Abuja, more people are stabbed than anywhere else in Nigeria. If u like ur life, after 7pm,don't book any late night appointments and if it's raining in the night, don't go out,if u do and ur car get spoit,u are finished. U will be robbed eventually or car tyres all taken at gun point. From kubwa,to Lugbe,Gaduwa, lokogoma down to games village,Area one and beger junction, banex junction. Mabushi, jahi and any pedestrian bridge any where in Abuja is a danger at night. If u car, gets spoilt while on ur way,the first thing u should do if u know u stay in Abuja is,evacuate ur families from the car or u distance yourself from the car,if not u will be robbed and stab. It has become a norm here. There is no night people don't get stabbed in Abuja. Wuse hospital experience more night stabbing than any hospital here in Abuja last year. Let us be careful, those boys also move around with guns at night too. |

ibechris:Oga, I've lived in Abuja for over 25years, there's nothing about this city that's news to me. Last night i got home past 1am and it has been so every other night, no riffraff can scare me off the streets of this town. Just honking or flashing high beams would have gone a long way to help the victims, but the fool who opened this thread decided to be a useless coward instead. Nonsense ![]() Yes! I’ve rescued up to 10 people, mainly drivers, from Okada riders in this town. In any clash between drivers and bike riders, bike riders always back their own even if they're in the wrong. Meanwhile, car drivers never stop to investigate why a fellow driver is being attacked, showing the same cowardice and indifference as the person who started this thread. I chased away robbers attacking a woman whose car broke down on the expressway, while many other drivers simply drove past her. A driver was killed and his corpse burnt inside his vehicle sometime ago on airport road around lugbe by Okada riders while other driver were driving past forgetting that one day they might be the ones in that same situation. |

Eraddray:Funny thing is that the death you are scared of is the only event that is 100% certain in this life. Continue being a coward but keep your acts of cowardice to yourself. Dont provoke people like me by sharing it. Nonsense ![]() |

Eraddray:Op that was a life test. Since you guys were 3 in the truck you could have at least helped the guys getting stabbed. You could park and help shout thief or come down. It's just a little sacrifice. Those guy would have run and you might actually have saved a life which is a great price in existence. The problem is most people will rather leave you to your own troubles instead of standing up for You. That was exactly what you did. I think what you witnessed was a test to you and you failed. Hopefully, when next something similar happens, you would understand the test and pass it |

God forbids that one's car gets to break down at night on any of these lonely Abuja roads (especially 7pm to 11pm ish. I'd say midnight till 4am is even safer). It's a dreadful experience. Best thing to do is to immediately exit the vehicle and walk/run as quickly as you can ahead ahead by the flanks. I guess the SUV broke down on the road and yet the occupants stayed put inside. |

OP, since you guys were in a truck and they were not using guns, the driver could have tried to run them over and they would have taken to their heels immediately. The truth is, it could have happened to anyone; including you. And you would have been gutted if no one helped. |
