I'm not sure how Osimhen got to where he is, but this I do know: Nigeria did nothing for him to get there just as it does nothing for of us all! If it was a nation worth dying for, maybe some will dare to... Sadly it's not. The player's audacity is because there's nothing to lose. I mean, what can the nation possibly do to him, take away his citizenship? I bet he'd be glad if they did. I'd be glad if they take mine (don't know about you) and give me citizenship in any other nation on earth. Minus Niger Republic, of course. The semblance of the name to Nigeria is a no, no. Osimhen's attitude is definitely uncultured and highly insulting. No one is ever bigger than his own people. However, if we look away from his attitude, we'd see what's behind it is corruption and the characteristic neglecting of people prevalent in the Nigerian system. This neglect I speak of affects both the ordinary citizens as well sports people. They're under-compensated and abandoned when injured in the course of serving this land. I call this use and dump tactic. The same style our politicians use in dribbling and swindling the masses. Much like in other matters, monies budgeted for sports end up in the pockets of a few people. One of these people that was once at the head of the NFF is living larger than life and always sponsoring comedy shows and seen throwing money about the place. No one has ever stopped to question how he came about all that money. We'll see more Osimhens until we fix this nation. The best brains are japa-ing on a daily basis to countries where they are valued, taken care of, and well-paid. This trend will see an upward climb. Don't expect ordinary citizens to be patriotic when the thieving politicians preaching it don't even believe it. They'll need to show through good examples by practicing what they preach. Summary: Osimhen's attitude, bad. Nigerian state, bad. Infact, his attitude is a reflection of the attitude of every citizen right now against the elite of this nation. They've born so much shit for way too long and they'll explode at any given moment just like Victor Osimhen. Just my 24 karat bullshit. Over and out. |

Other Nigeria players , who helped them? Who is Osimhen that he wants to be feeling big whenever he is invited to play for the national team? How are the attitudes of the Super Eagles players different from.the politicians? |

helinues:Those ones even if they turn up still don't give their best. Argue as you please, results don't lie. These guys play well at their clubs but don't do same here. What other way do you want them to tell you it's the same attitude as Osimhen's but just codedly on the down low? Who wan die for country wey no care about you? |
| Re: Beyond Victor Osimhen's Outburst: Nigeria Caused It by Remman(m): 7:59pm On Jun 16, 2024 |
Nigeria doesn't invest in football, this guys will transport themselves from abroad to Nigeria to and fro at their own cost for playing a national match. Some times i just don't blame the players. And as op said, Nigeria didn't make him what he is today and that's true. So, i agree with op. |

Remman:I see you sensible someborry. I fitnth come and kill myself by myself if I'm Osimhen too. The country is not worth it. They've done nothing for me. |
| Re: Beyond Victor Osimhen's Outburst: Nigeria Caused It by helinues: 8:31pm On Jun 16, 2024 |
Goldmynemaniac:If nobody wan die for the country, then we should stop blaming the politicians Lack of patriotism is our problem, be it the players, politicians or the masses |

helinues:The politicians aren't the ones doing the dying, they're the ones doing the killing via their thieving ways. |
| Re: Beyond Victor Osimhen's Outburst: Nigeria Caused It by Lifestone(m): 8:48pm On Jun 16, 2024 |
Goldmynemaniac:What a question you asked. If Nigeria didn't give Osimhen the platform with the Under 17 team, who for know him. We should all look for what we can do for this Country rather than what Nigeria will do for us. As for Osimhen, Nigeria made him whatever he becomes in football and owes a responsibility to respect the Country. If he's injured as he claimed, which I'm not disputing, he should have still reported at the camp |

Lifestone:That's some shit motivational speakers throw around you typed up there. You know the nation must do some things for you first to enable you do what you can. Victor played well for Nigeria at that level that was why he shined and hence was seen. Besides, if he was born in another country, it would've even been easier for him in an environment where he doesn't need to have both talent and also pay some persons to earn a spot in the team. The way we should see it is that he did the nation a service not the other way round. It's like soldiers going to fight for a country at a warfront. Who do you think do the other service between the soldiers and their country? |

You people should leave Osimhen alone abeg. Disputes happen everywhere there's human interaction and they always get settled one way or another and this one won't be different. Leave the young man, there are back channels trashing out things already |
| Re: Beyond Victor Osimhen's Outburst: Nigeria Caused It by Lifestone(m): 9:26pm On Jun 16, 2024 |
Goldmynemaniac:You asked what Nigeria has done for Osimhen. I answered. Without the Nigeria factor in him, he'd be no where. Somehow maybe you can share wit us how much Osimhen paid to be in Under 17, nd also who he paid to. The point is that you don't see anything good in Nigeria and derives joy to talk her down. No country is perfect including Somalia that you preferred over Nigeria. You choice |
| Re: Beyond Victor Osimhen's Outburst: Nigeria Caused It by Goldmynemaniac(op): 9:41pm On Jun 16, 2024*. Modified: 11:11pm On Jun 16, 2024 |
Lifestone:Comrade, lower your voice. Without being born in Nigeria, he'd still be born somewhere if he's born at all. He won't "be nowhere." He must have a country. Seriously? You really need those guys to have outbursts and make videos about how they paid in sweat and coins to get spots before you're satisfied? How about how you need to "know" someone to get selected, I bet you didn't know that to! Didn't you hear him talking about sports godfatherism in his video? That still won't do, you won't admit to truth even if it's somehow turned into a concrete slab and used to whip you smack in the face. You show traits of belonging to the APC or benefiting from them. The point I'm making is that Nigeria didn't do Osimhen a "favor", he got talent and so he used it for her. Despite that the Nigerian context frustrates selfless service, he still found a way through to rise. He doesn't owe Nigeria anything. There are many Nigerians playing for other countries, you know? You say I don't see anything good in Nigeria. I agree. At least that confirms my eyes are fine. As well, I'm not hallucinating on politics, tribalism, regionalism, religion, or any of the like stuff that color vision in certain Nigerians. I see only what is here not things you wish are here. I won't do that even if I'm paid to do so as a job. |

Goldmynemaniac:Nigeria gave him a chance to wear the green white green as an under17. That exposure brought him to limelight. Nigeria also did something for many of us that got our degrees for dirt cheap. Same degree that my colleagues in the abroad spent huge some of money to get and some are still paying back the big loans.
|
| Re: Beyond Victor Osimhen's Outburst: Nigeria Caused It by Goldmynemaniac(op): 10:16pm On Jun 16, 2024*. Modified: 11:23pm On Jun 16, 2024 |
Slytiger:We'll talk about the quality of that degree another time, then follow it up with job availability. But just as a mention, your colleagues in the abroad can actually do/practice whatever qualifications their degrees confer on them. As well, they have jobs to begin with, that's why they're able to be "still paying" for the loans. Your beloved government has brought academic loans and soon you'll be in debt like them, and that's if they don't turn around and embezzle all the funds they're supposed to loan you. Now on the issue at hand, are you saying that if he was born in another country with the same talent he wouldn't make it to such a level as he has done? He seems to be doing well in a foreign club by the way which shows that Nigeria only gave him visibility, or did it? If he could somehow make himself to be "seen" from hard ass Nigerian stage, he'd as well have done it in any other country, and even more easily. Anthony Joshua comes to mind while we're at it. Nigeria won't let him serve her in the Olympics except he would "tangle" with the shotcallers the Nigerian way (bribery and connection). He didn't represent Nigeria yet he has become the world champion. Thank God for him they didn't allow him else his full potential would've been limited by all the shits this place gives. |

I'm just neutral regarding this osihmen saga and all... But you saying Nigeria didn't make him is the biggest lie you will tell yourselves in 2024 When you first heard the name osihmen it was on what platform? NIGERIA. From representing NIGERIA in under 17 How did he get into the team? was picked by a NIGERIAN coach!! you saying NIGERIA didn't make osihmen is being completely delusional. Not disregading the fact that the guy is talented and all, and would have probably gotten on the spotlight one way or the other but please don't ever remove Nigeria contribution.... when he won his first ever individual award who was he representing? NIGERIA!!! what country put him on the world map to get those awards NIGERIA.Y'all need to call down on the self deception and delusion, Biko.. |

Goldmynemaniac:U all come to rant about nigeria not doing anything for anyone. Yet u enjoy subsidy on almost everything. From health to education. Without nigeria showcasing him, who is oshimen, kelechi iheanacho was not even d first 5 best in Taye FC of owerri. Even his dead bestfrnd UCHE was better in everything. But because of d platform he got. Clubs discovered him. Many stars sleep in stadiums around d country begging to be picked. Even reduce dia age. So let's stop talking down on our country. If u no like am, u shift. |

mekabuachi:For the record, I'm not his fan, AC, or whatever. Don't get sentimental now. I know he hurt your feelings, he did mine as well. No lies, he was very mannerless and went too far and will get whatever comes as a consequence. He's definitely onto a fall already. Pride is found in him therefore a fall is imminent. Away from that, something caused frustration that triggered an outburst in that guy. Others in the team have theirs all bottled up, holding them down. Their performances in games for the nation is proof. My point is that whatever caused that in him is the same problem eating away at Nigerians at home. An outburst will come in the form of a revolution and it's near except something is done quickly. See the bigger issue beyond one Osimhen and see all the Osimhens who have been talking at motorparks and at every street corner. His voice was heard because he's in the light, others have been doing so more vehemently without much impact. See the bigger issues. |

Otamendi99:Defenders of mediocrity spotted. Let's just be doing ourselves together. You're probably benefiting from the system not working as it is. It's alright. You may not be feeling it directly but I'm sure that there are very many of those connected to you in one way or the other who are having it hard like every other Nigerian. We buy pepper and tomatoes from the same markets afterall. So Continue. Also, he's Victor Osinhem and not his living or dead friends. He would've been who he is to be regardless. Even easier and better in other environments that's why he's best in the club he plays for abroad. I repeat, BEST ABROAD. The reason those guys sleep at stadiums is because corrupt politicians (and the masses who cooperate with them like you) don't develop sports in the country. If enough investments are made in that industry many of those guys would have enough great clubs at home to play in and they'd be well paid. Una dey forbid make whites dey run come here come play for una leagues? Saudi league bought Ronaldo and some world class players, you know? |

victory36:Come with facts not guess. And whatever, Nigeria gave him the platform. Anyway, we have seen a lot about this in the past, the country is bigger than any individuals. We all gave him huge support during his quest for Africa Footballer of the Year Award. We dey here, I hope he's wise enough to slow down. He's becoming too loud. |
