10 billion for compensation? Is Tinibu this careless? There are already route mapped out for this road why not continue with it. More than 100 billion will be used only for compensation. Just one section of the road that is not up to 10km, you have already spent 10 billion in a road that is 700km. Tinibu please go back to the original plan mapped out for this road.
This 10 billion is enough to build six companies in the six geopolitical zones.
Seems you read without understanding .
... So far 10bn had been spent on compensation doesn't mean it's 10bn per phase.

The Federal government has flagged off the construction of section two of the Lagos -Calabar coastal highway project starting from Lekki Deep Seaport which is the border between Lagos and Ogun State.

The Minister of Works, David Umahi flagged off this when he led officials on an inspection tour of ongoing works on Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway and other road projects on the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Dangote Tax Credit Route, Eleko, among other axis.

Umahi who promised that each section would be given desired attention said about ten billion naira had so far been paid as compensation to owners of structures affected by the rights of way of the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway project.

He also said the construction of flyovers would commence first week of July and that the Federal Executive Council had given approval for the construction of the fifty six kilometres Sokoto-Badagry road.

Umahi who also inspected the Third Mainland Bridge said eighty percent of the road projects flagged off since the inception of the present administration on May twenty nine, 2023 had been completed.

Also speaking the Deputy Chief Whip and member, Senate Committee on Works, Peter Nwebonyi commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for a job weldone on ongoing works on road projects across the country and the completion of about three hundred and thirty road infrastructure since the Inception of his tenure.

That's pretty fast and impressive.

Here's hoping that the Calabar end of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will start in July or August 2024 as planned. A Delta State or Bayelsa State end of the Coastal Highway can also start simultaneously so as to be able to beat the 8 years deadline for the highway completion by a few months.

it’s phase per phase, they’re not jumping from one phase to another to go pay compensations, they pay compensation as they get to each phase.
The 10b doesn’t mean that’s all they’ll pay for compensation on this phase, they’d still pay more, it’s just what’s they’ve paid (looted) so far they're telling you, then when they get to phase 3 if there’re more compensation to pay they’d do the same until they finish looting the treasury and abandon the project.

No one is against the project.

Nigerians are only against the fraudulent way Tinubu awarded the contract. The shadyness and dubiousness surrounding the entire project award process. There was no transparency or accountability in the award of the contract. There was no competitive bidding at all.

First, Nigerians were told that the project would be funded by the contractor only for the Tinubu government to release N1.06 trillion from our common wealth to the contractor. To cover up what they have done, they backtracked and said that the government would be providing 15%–30% counterpart financing.

Could you believe that the Environmental Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) report on the project came after the contractors had mobilized to the site and begun work? A project of this magnitude.
Only ibos are against the project because it will not reach their regioní

@Paraman, do you have a recent 2024 graphic represention of ALL the current routes the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will pass through? Kindly share it here if you do.

Second, when the construction reaches the Ogun/Ondo border then moving right into the Ilajeland coastal areas of Ondo State, is there a certainty that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will pass through Itsekiri communities on getting to Delta State and parts of Urhobo areas before finally moving into the Ijaw areas at Forcados and on into Bayelsa areas of Southern Ijaw?

Third, I saw Edo State on the list of the states the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway would pass through but I still haven't figured what communities in Edo State would be covered by that highway.

The recent 2024 map of the entire route out to have been released into the public domain by now.

Thanks.

Praying for the economy to get better, praying for the President to die, praying for the soldiers and police to get killed.

If there are Urohobos and Itsekiris areas that share borders with the Atlantic ocean in Delta state, then the road will pass through their communities. The road will only pass through areas that are close to the Atlantic ocean.
