In all this, you haven't blamed Shonekan who took upon a role he was not qualified for. Shonekan had enough time to allow Prof Nwosu complete the announcement of the results by revoking Babangida's annulment.

Bad or not, Abiola was Africa largest philanthropist who INDEED won that election and deserved to have been President. By 1998, there was too much water under the bridge that only a new election could have made Abiola President.

By that time, MKO should have surrendered his mandate like Mandela and allowed the country to go into a proper election. Even Mandela, whom MKO has as model, didn't immediately become President upon release from jail.

The Nigeria of 1993 was 30 States. Some of the Governors were dead. There was no way we could have gone back to that 1993 Mandate. MKay apparently didn't get enough advise and was sacrificed in Aso Rock.

May God continue to rest his soul. Nigeria, and indeed the World, lost a great man in MKO. Who was Harry Akande, or Dangote or Otedola when MKay reigned like a colossus?

Grandpa it was Abiola plans that backfired late Tony Anenih told him not to endorse Abacha as the head of state, looking for a soft landing him(Abiola) and some of his cohorts supported Abacha after so much persuasion to no good. Abiola started talking bad against military government sensing impending danger, He was then arrested and Jailed while some of his supporters are used as scapegoats. Abiola Bleep up.
