The Criminal case against the Senator was earlier struck out in July, for lack of diligent prosecution.

The Civil aspect of the matter was instituted at the FCT High Court
Suit No. CV/2393/19 - Osimibibra Warmate v Senator Elisha Abbo.

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory has awarded up to N50 million in liability against Elisha Abbo. Peoples Gazette learnt on Monday.

The court said Mr. Abbo should pay N50 million to Osimibibra Warmate, the woman he assaulted on camera in March 2019.

The civil judgement came weeks after a magistrate’s court found the senator not guilty of criminal assault.

Two senior members of the legal team who filed the case for
Ms. Warmate confirmed same via Twitter.

Remember that video of a Nigerian Senator slapping/assaulting a young lady at a shop? Well justice was served today with the Court slamming the sum of N50M against the Senator. I am delighted to have represented that young lady in this suit. We say no more to oppression!

Nelson!

I was a leading member of the team, with @nellymacaroni which filed the Court papers in a civil suit between Ms. Warmate v. Senator Elisha Abbo, for the assault of Ms. Warmate at an adult shop in Abuja. Excited to announce, Court slammed damages of N50m against Senator Abbo today

That’s good!

My Yoruba brothers, do not cause division in the South because of some selfish politicians. South West have produced President 8yrs, V.P 8yrs.

We Niger deltans had only 4yrs (Jonathan) and we are not fools, we must complete our tenure before power moves to the South West.

They say Igbos have not built bridges across Nigeria, well that is for the igbos to answer.

Niger deltans will build good political structure with the North ahead of 2023 to complete our tenure we don’t care about the party, our people are in the major political parties.

We believe our Yoruba neighbors will support us to complete our tenure for fairness and unity.

Nigeria can not survive Boko haram and shutting down of crude oil production in the Niger delta which will result to scarcity of petro and hardship (increase in price of good and transportation)
.

God bless Nigeria

This is a wonderful judgement. He should show leadership and remorse by paying up immediately instead of unnecessary appeal. Hopefully, other assaulters like him will learn from this judgement. Kudos to the judge that delivered the judgement as well.

Will you shut that your gutter you called mouth up...Who are the Niger deltans? Well I'm not blame you I blame Obasanjo that handed power to that drunkard.

Niger delta is just like a bonus to North, southwest, southeast so stop dreaming of power .

Audio fine....
It is going to be a prolonged case of court against court orders. No body takes Nigerian court injunctions serious again because the law makers are the law breakers

He isn't a convict. It was a civil suit, the criminal suit was striked out for lack of diligent prosecution(whatever that means to the magistrate with the overwhelming video evidence)
