I guess when she means refrigerator, she means the section of the fridge that does not get food frozen. Just like the section of the fridge you put egg, fruits, etc, etc..... otherwise if she's meaning the entirety of the refrigerator, I think she's mistaken on so many things. Because people have been doing such even before they came to know what is called a microwave today.
You are right.

Refrigerator or fridge storage is a temporary thing

Freezer is a long term thing.

Lol! I can laugh out loud in both Mandarin and Wu Chinese.
What a bunch of illiteracy redefined!
I thought low temperatures are supposed to hinder the growth of food spoilage bacteria and prevent the food from spoiling.
Thank God I still know my Biology from Sec.School.
Temperatures as low as 0.°F to _17.8°C will preserve all manner of edibles for months on end in a deep freezer or fridge, without them losing their nutritional value or taste/flavour and also totally prevent growth of bacteria that cause food spoilage.
In the Polar region of the Antarctic, where the lowest temperature is _89.2°C to 128.6°F, any animal that dies will remain fresh and preserved for months and even years if scavengers don't get to it.
Goodness, how did these educated NAFDAC illiterates come about their theory?
What is their source of information?
Lol! Truly most Nigerian scientists are actually STARK ILLITERATES

If food is frozen and it remains frozen, nothing happens to it unless it's thawed.

Milk definitely included. Why would you keep milk for more than a day?
Milk can still stay for up to 7 days and taste fresh. After which it begins to have a sour taste.

How many people has refrigerator killed because of food storage for over 50+ years?

This is the result of striking university.
Fake school,
Fake student,
Fake teachers,
Fake graduates.
Fake imagination.
Fake statement.

She can't prove this rubbish statement.

From the Island, food refrigeration is of natural origin.
At zero degree Celsius, no food can decay or get spoiled and no deseas can survive under ice.
Madam, you lied.
Your science is fake.
Please go and study physics very well and come back.
Non sense.

How did she become a Professor?

Food kept in the refrigerator at low temperature becomes bacteriostatic- The bacteria and other microbes are inactivated and can't grow, until brought out, thawed and kept at room temperature.

If cooked or warmed post-refrigeration, the bacteria or other microbes are killed.

Where did she learn her own Medical Microbiology?

This is woman sounds empty-headed and keep brainwashing us with false intellect.

NAFDAC is one of the most opaque organizations, also corrupt too. Go there and try to register a product, and you will see the tons of 'bureaucratic' bottlenecks you will encounter until you go through their corrupt agents..

One day, the can of worms will be open.

I hear. In this tribulation, I cannot afford to cook every time hence I cook in mass and store in the freezer for heating when needed.

It saves me time and money. All these don't store food in freezers only work where you have abundance of food and a thriving economy.

Thank you madam Moji of Nafdac but I am sticking to my guns.
You are very correct. I have stored my cooked soup for 16 months before and nothing happened to it if it’s in the freezer.
I hate the culture of storing food past 2 days until I got to America.

Even common rice has to been taken out from the freezer to warm in the microwave when I visit a friend or family.
The lady is delusional and every home in America keeps a Chester freezer for a reason.
But Nigerian families cannot survive without storing cooked food for a long time.

The duration for which people in cold regions store food in the refrigerator can vary depending on the type of food and the specific refrigerator settings. However, here are some general guidelines for common food items:

- **Dairy Products**: Milk, cheese, and yogurt can typically be stored for 1-2 weeks. Hard cheeses may last longer.
- **Meat and Poultry**: Raw meat and poultry can generally be stored for 1-2 days. Cooked meat can last 3-4 days.
- **Fish and Seafood**: Raw fish and seafood usually last 1-2 days, while cooked fish can be kept for 3-4 days.
- **Fruits and Vegetables**: Most fruits and vegetables can be stored for a few days to a week. Some, like apples and carrots, can last several weeks.
- **Leftovers**: Cooked leftovers should be consumed within 3-4 days.
- **Eggs**: Eggs can be stored for 3-5 weeks.

In cold regions, ambient temperatures can sometimes be close to refrigerator temperatures, which might allow for some flexibility in storage. However, a refrigerator is still essential to maintain consistent and safe temperatures for food preservation.

Proper food storage practices are crucial to prevent spoilage and foodborne illnesses, regardless of the region.

This info also applicable to our region. Nafdac you wrong this time...

Checkout nigeria regiion below:
In hot regions like Nigeria, it is especially important to store food properly in the refrigerator to prevent spoilage and foodborne illnesses. Here are general guidelines for how long common food items can be safely stored in a refrigerator:

- **Dairy Products**:
- **Milk**: 7 days
- **Cheese**: 1-2 weeks (hard cheeses can last longer)
- **Yogurt**: 1-2 weeks

- **Meat and Poultry**:
- **Raw Meat**: 1-2 days
- **Cooked Meat**: 3-4 days
- **Raw Poultry**: 1-2 days
- **Cooked Poultry**: 3-4 days

- **Fish and Seafood**:
- **Raw Fish and Seafood**: 1-2 days
- **Cooked Fish and Seafood**: 3-4 days

- **Fruits and Vegetables**:
- **Most Fruits and Vegetables**: 3-7 days
- **Hardier Fruits (e.g., apples)**: Several weeks
- **Root Vegetables (e.g., carrots)**: Several weeks

- **Leftovers**: 3-4 days

- **Eggs**: 3-5 weeks

In hot regions, maintaining a consistent refrigerator temperature of 4°C (40°F) or below is crucial. Rapid temperature fluctuations and prolonged exposure to heat can accelerate food spoilage. It is also important to:

- **Avoid Overloading the Refrigerator**: This ensures proper air circulation and maintains consistent cooling.
- **Store Food in Airtight Containers**: This helps prevent contamination and moisture loss.
- **Regularly Check and Clean the Refrigerator**: To remove spoiled items and maintain hygiene.

Proper food storage practices are essential in hot climates to ensure food safety and extend the shelf life of perishable items.

Nafdac we go school oooooo.

Lol!

The comments here are so worrisome.

How can you even think 4 days of food in the fridge is okay. Mehn! What modernisation has turned us to.

Go start a garden. Eat organic food. Ditch fertilizer and pesticides. Eat grass fed meat and eggs. Do little strength, exercise, and walk. Take spirituality seriously. And overcome all your health challenges.

But the lowest on the pyramid of good health, which is eating good food, is what most are battling with. But the solution is to bull crap modernisation. Nope. Everyone is almost addicted to the modern way of life.

If you open your garden and do what I have recommended above, you will spit out party jollof rice and other rubbish most people display online. Just try it. Your taste bud will change, and your hormones will start working optimally.

This woman has given us all the best advice we should follow. It is our duty to find a way to implement it rather than complain.

I have seen people who deliberately relocated to the village to eat well and breathe in fresh air. After 2 solid year, they were refreshed. It is funny that you are all shouting high costs of food. If you relocate to the village, you get free food, you don't spend on transportation anymore. And your expenses go way down. And you have more income if you start a business there. You can fix satellite Internet, install solar panels for 24/7 power, etc. Just plan well. And if you.csnnot afford it all at the initial stage, do it gradually. If you don't have such luxury in the city, then forget about it in the village. Just go ahead and turn your health around for better.

Go to the village and eat fresh food from your garden.

Good luck to everyone.

She will not even allow her children to put on television unless she is the one that puts it on.
U can never eat anything from the house unless she gives to you and that will be when she wants to.

Food in a fridge does not spoil immediately. It is what refrigeration was created for in the first place. All these illiterates holding powerful positions. Make them comot! This is no different from the white man claiming people should not drink cold water when the very liquid flows from their taps.
