Thanks Bro. We can actually air our view without insult or name calling cuz at the end we are all powered by Air and same Red Blood.

Cheers.

You're a testament that there are still sane people on Nairaland. I love the fact that you gave your dissenting view without the need to call me names.

Cheers!

Do not judge me based on your standards. For a young single guy my age, I am doing very well for myself even without indulging in fraud or any allied societal vice.
Based on my goal, I would say I have not attained the height I hope to, but I however cannot relate when you talk about the poverty-shaped mentality. I don't know what is called poverty.

I guess you're going through poverty and I wish you all the best to survive it.
Oga, you’re deluding yourself. Your humble opinion is borne out of poverty around you..i mean poverty of govt structure.. poverty of public infrastructure , poverty of community around. … and financial proverty.
Herbert Wigwe’s 1st late son, stayed in UK for secondary school.. and US for uni.. are you richer and more successful than him?
Atiku and his family live abroad.. are you better than them?
Tinubu’s kids live in thd US.. are you better than them?

God knows abroad doesn't freak me. Holidays yes and boom I'm back. I can't function well in a country that I'll have to follow protocols in everything.
It’s well understood why corruption has become a norm in Nigeria, especially with Rich people in Nigeria always feeling superior!

I have never been outside the shores of this country and trust me, I will.

Do I want to reside there? The answers remains no! Why would I want to be in a country that its citizens see me as inferior because of my skin colour? Why would I want to be in a country that has embraced sexual perversity? Why would I want to expose my kids to such rot?

Nigeria no good, but I like it here.

🇳🇬 Naija all the way!
the racism in Nigeria is worse than anywhere. Igbos were not allowed to vote in Lagos, same country. What do you call that? Igbos are seen as third class citizens, what do you call that? The northerners believes they owned this country and it's their birth rights to rule, what do you call that? A country that a child from yobe with 2 score can be given admission to federal unity school but a child in Imo or Ogun state with 180 score may not get admitted, what do you call that? Should we go to religion intolerance? What of patriarchal against women? Discrimination to singles? Discrimination to a family that didn't have a child or all girl child?

Nigeria racism is worse

None… but it’s borne of our of poverty-shaped mentality with a very singular and linear idea of comparison.. You cant vouch that Fanta is better than Coke when you have only tasted Fanta all your life…A comparison is based on 2 or more tested narratives not on a singular narrative
The premise of your argument was based on a functional and organized country vs unorganized country like Naija. . Is Afghanistan an organized society? Dont shift the goal post.

I bet you prefer Nigeria to Afghanistan. But have you tested both? That narrative is flawed.

The idea of "poverty-shaped" mentality in making decisions is out of the picture here.

Tribalism is at its crescendo in Nigeria and I totally agree. The major victims of religious intolerance are the African traditional worshippers. Christians and Muslims see them as evil!

The patriarchal culture you talked about is an African thing. Whileit is still existing, I can tell you for free that it is not as predominant as it used to be. It was a belief passed down for generations. We're changing the narrative.

Let me tell you this, sire. Hausa/Fulani people are treated as third-class citizens down South. When you see an Hausa/Fulani man, what comes into your mind is "This one na aboki-mallam (in a demeaning manner), cow, ewu, boko haram, bandit." I grew up seeing this.

Igbos on the other hand have been marginalised politically. I blame them to an extent because they play bad/baby politics. This is something Orji Uzor Kalu et Dave Umahi have said. They pull down the ladder which they need to access the top. For instance, an Igbo man in APC is seen as a betrayer and a sellout. Why is that so?
I totally agree that an Igbo man should rule too, but is power given? It is taken! If you want to be at the top, you relate with those at the top.

I expect some people to abuse me based on my own opinion ooooh. Well, it is a Nairaland thing and I care less.

I'm glad you stated all these. How do you think the whites will view us? Racism of same colour. You can imagine. Then we can assume theirs is better than ours and despite the racism black face in a white man country they still make exploit over there. You can't get a government job in Nigeria as a citizen without getting to know someone at the top.

Nigerian problems are enormous bro and we the citizens also play a part in it.
