The controversy surrounding his dismissal and later reinstatement as the Kano Emirate’s traditional ruler has been openly addressed by Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II. In a special interview with Saturday Sun, the Emir discussed the differences in Kano State and linked them to the policies of the outgoing administration Emir Sanusi emphasized that the people of Kano have always been united, and he criticized the creation of new emirates as unnecessary, citing Kano’s largely homogeneous population. He highlighted examples of Christians and Muslims living harmoniously in various parts of the state, such as Tudun Wada and Rano. “If you see the Christians in Kano, they are part of us. They don’t say they want to leave us. They are not asking for a different system. Nobody. If you go to Tudun Wada, we have Christians. You go to Rano, we have Christians,” he said. Emir Sanusi also shared a personal anecdote to illustrate his commitment to interfaith harmony. He recounted an incident in Rogo where a church was burnt down, and he used his own money to rebuild it. “We had an issue in Rogo. You may remember that there was an issue. People went and burnt a church. I went there, took out my own personal money and rebuilt the church,” he revealed. He believes that the previous government’s actions were the root cause of the current crisis, suggesting that some individuals who received unasked-for privileges resisted when those privileges were removed. “The Kano Emirate is one family and one people,” Emir Sanusi stated, asserting that the divisions are the result of external interference https://stories.apexnews-af.com/news/detail/b597419fe7362ab5b63f89dd28dc30c5?country=ng&language=en&entry_id=254ce3a5240623en_ng&request_id=PUSH_ed8f9530-c9c1-42bc-bdda-434ad093e7dd&from=mini_push#google_vignette

Bayero took over when the government favoured in what was viewed as an ill treatment towards Sanusi. Things have been strengthened. Let him go back to his previous status. At least he has collected a little. |

Goodnewsforlife:Thousands of churches burnt down in the northern part of the country nko? Or you are now blind to see those ones. In the year 2000 alone, over 200 churches was burnt down in different parts of the north or they never born you that time. There is nothing like religious discrimination in the East. Know this and know peace. |

Goodnewsforlife:The reverse should actually be the case here It's muslim northners that's supposed to be learning from igbos how to live in harmony with people of other faith. Have u ever heard of christain riots in Igboland where muslims were massacred in their thousands like we have seen several times in the core North? This same sanusi that's pretending to be a civilised muslim have once led a muslim mob to behead a pastor in kano. |
