before the days of using western technology to fly to saudi arabia in under 12 hours, the haj (pilgrimage) was an actual journey the faithful took by foot across the desert till they got to makkah. ironically hundreds of nigerians today are performing a different pilgrimage [on foot] to the shores of libya with the hope of crossing over into greece/italy. so a haj on foot to makkah is actually doable

so i dont know what the governor is going on about.

This can only be a big fat lie. During Hajj, the kind of CHARITY every where is second to Ramadan. Infact I don't advice people to take food stuffs with them during Hajj because it's so surplus from the host who beg pilgrims to accept their kind gesture. BigkokoRep

Let them make sacrifice for everyone for here in Nigeria we are making sacrifices as the government of the day told us to do.I expected them to do fasting and praying while in the holyland not to be scrambling for food.

I am absolutely sure in both religions u ain't force to go on pilgrimage till u are capable mentally & financially. STOP using our taxes to subsidised ur religious obligations WITHOUT OUR CONSENT. This applies to both religions

they should have stayed back home to sustain themselves with that fund they used in going for pilgrimage.

The manners in which the pilgrims are treated year in year out is appalling. The various State Welfare Boards in conjunction with NAHCON must up their games and stop making lives unbearable for the pilgrims on account of the unsatisfactory services while in the holy land.

It has become a yearly custom that Hajj arrangement must have defect, even next year another bad story will still be recorded no matter how well prepared or learning from previous mistakes they made. It is not a must to go to Hajj. Government has done his part, you should learn to organize yourselves well. Christian pilgrimages also has many challenges, but christians usually organize themselves better and respect one another better than many Muslims do to themselves

Most of the Govt MADs ( Min.Agencies and Depts) are Fraudulent,that is bleedings,yearly as most of them Corruptly Embezzled the States and Federal Money and the Budgets.
In fact,some in those Organisations( DISCOS ,NNPC, Humanitarian Poverty Alieviation,are claiming entitlement to it,every year,so the Governor is right!
• However,where was the governor and his Deputy - that they both left for Saudi,so who was then running the Govt? Hope a lesson was learnt!
While Americans are marching forward in Space Explorations, STEMS, and Monumental development,in all Sectors of their Economy,our Nigeria govt ( Stats and Federal) are Spending FOREX on sponsorship to Saudi Arabia Hajj Pilgrimage because some People are cornering the Money,year in,year out, without Accountabilities on the Funds!
