No, wondering why all the attentions have been shifted on government about hardship while the parents have been left out from the discussion.

When did some people add FG as their next of kin?
Shut up Helinues. The evil APC party you support is the cause of this problem. They made a deal with the devil which they're regretting now because there's no going back.
Each time we plan to send them back to their demons, useful 🤡🤡🤡s and Idiots like you and your lots plus the useless and evil politicians will bring in religion and tribalism to frustrate it. Just like the barbecue griller, your karma is just around you.
😡😡😡

If you can't afford rent , simply move in back with your parents and save that money either for japa or just buy land build ya own

Should parents who worked for how many years still be waiting for their kids to feed them if they had been responsible when they had the capacity to plan for the future?
Please, take some time out to read and digest your comments on this platform...you will realize you've been insensitive, delusional and mostly unreasonable with your responses to topics on government. How many parents are able to take care of themselves in Nigeria today? How regular is pension and how much is it? What of those who were forced to abandon their farming because of herdsmen?
You need help seriously

Government need to do something to stop all this increments in rents. It's unfair in a country like Nigeria.

Our fathers had it easier. Many were able to purchase properties easily but youths of today find it difficult to rent.

Imagine someone working at VI, rent for a self con is 1 or 2M per annum, and for mini flat rent may be 3M or 4M, the person has to move to the mainland or after the island such as lakowe or Awoyaya etc.... how will such a person save money?

Government should do something please... At least for the citizens... The occultic spell placed on Nigerians by the politicians, must be broken in Jesus name
. It's quite unfortunate that we find ourselves in the hands of this recent leaders. I do feel bad whenever I hear increment in rents but on the other hand, the government is not helping too. Things are so expensive, building material prices has skyrocketed without any measure control from the government.
As at 2015, cement were sold at 1500 naira max-2k. But now it ranges between 8 to 13k. 1 trip of sand (10 tire)then is 30k but sold at 100k per trip now. Granite was around 180 to 200k but now sells at almost 800k per trip. Not to mention labour, rods and other materials. This government has failed Nigerians for real. They all enjoyed and had the best of this great country but couldn't sustain the system that brought them in for the current generation to also have a taste of our lovely nation.
I pray God almighty helps us all...

I have 12 individual rooms in Abuja that my dad left for me to manage. Before I assumed a management position, the rent was 120k per annum. Just last week, my immediate younger sibling suggested I increase the rent by at least 50% judging by the economic realities on the ground. I thought the hardship should elicit some level of compassion and consideration. Instead of increasing it by 50%, I reduced the rent to 75k annually. I can't be a Nebuchadnezzar
This had better be true... Do we have clear envidence.., because no such thing as ever been heard of from a Nigerian. huh

Yoruba landlords are shylocks , here in the east.our landlords are more considerate.

The last time my landlord increased our rent was in 2022 and that was a paltry 20k , l been thinking he will increase it again this year given the hyperinflation but he didn't.

Even in backward Ogun with no road and poor sanitation people are paying 800k for a flat.
No be small thing over there o

Some people are calling on government to do something about it, are they serious? People who closed the borders to prevent food importation, created b0k0 haram and herdsmen to finish off the farmers, the people who want you stave should help with affordable accommodation? Seems Nigerians are unaware of what has befallen them.
I'm telling you my comrade.

Very useless cretins. The mothefvckers can't see beyond their noses. They don't have any idea of what's still coming.

You are very funny! If Nigeria's problem as country is occultic, that would be easy; We will just offer some sacrifice and it will be over!
Problem we have as country is more sophisticated. It is a serious problem of under development and self sabotage that can not be prayed away! It has to be dealt with systematically and it may not be resolved for many years!
Are you minding the foool.

Human Psychological and Mental problems are the most difficult problems to solve.

A lot of Nigerians from top to the bottom are extremely damaged psychologically, mentally and spiritually.

Imagine landlord increasing rent for a tenant same Year he paid his first rent and to make maters worst they are mostly salary earners over there with fixed income.

The rise in the costs of building materials and construction has also been a major factor for the increase in the value of the property and rent. This has led to the need for them to increase rents across the board by about 100 per cent.”

Some landlady wicked shaaa

Are they telling us that the the cost of building materials used in building house 5 10 15 20 years ago still the same cost as today building materials cost? And I believe most of this buildings are old onces just that most landlord renovate the building, but they would still come out to charge tenant present rents. Not be una fault most of the so call tenant inherited the houses and they have never in their life work for money to feel the pains, that is why one stupid landlord would just wake up with new rent increment.
