Long overdue abeg.. any building blocking drainage channels should be brought down. LASG should have a monitoring and enforcement unit to checkmate illegal constructions across Lagos State.

Governor Sanwo Olu should use this his second term to cleanse Lagos . All illegal buildings and structures should be removed so problem of flooding will be addressed for good.

Are you sure you know Ago very well. Ago is a river pool of water, from canal to last bust stop to musibau down to okiiki to grandmate. We not talking about the road but inside streets. Ago is a water prone area and structures need to go. Nothing like its igbo dominated.

I went somewhere around Sangotedo a few years back with a relative, I saw first-hand how 'omo-onile' were sand-filling a canal at the end of an estate which was supposed to accommodate the waste water.

Lagos state is at the brink of collapse environment-wise. In fact, I suggest they even introduce environmental sanitation to make everywhere cleaner and free the gutters.

Well, Lagos state used to have a monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise until a certain lady from a certain place sued the govt, and won...now its free for all!

They can reintroduce it if there's political will. I think one of the major reasons why Lagos is so dirty today is that everything has been left in the hands of LAWMA, who are obviously struggling to keep Lagos clean.

If we could bring back environmental sanitation, Lagos would feel less congested and most of the the drainage problems would be eradicated.
