There was a circular where govt said they were pulling out from funding these agencies which they can't claim ignorance about. You don't set up numerous professional institutes and bodies without a funding arrangement. Perhaps they should take a clue from institute of chartered accountants Nigeria (ICAN) which funds it's activities from internally generated revenue.

Don't mind all the comments before you,it's either they are ill informed or jus plain dumb reactionaries.

Those agencies under the Health Ministry were relisted for funding from the federation account in January this year.

And even those delisted are still Federal agencies. Only difference is that there will be self-funded like Nafdac, Firs, CBN etc.

When was the budget approved and passed or you want the govt to go into extra budgetary spending then you start screaming that he has committed an impeachable offence.....they should wait for the supplementary budget coming up in some weeks I believe,they would be taken care of.

The problem with Nigeria is that Nigerians put up with too much s.hit from the government and this makes the govt to push the envelope further in terms of the type of wickedness they try on the masses.

Govt for UK go withhold health workers salary for UK ? The streets of London will grind to a standstill with protests from both the affected workers and the public at large.

Nigerians need to grow some balls and stand up ONCE AND FOR ALL to the pharaoh's who have been stealing them blind for so long instead of wasting their energies fighting one another online over who is supreme amongst Davido, Wizkid and Burna boy.

My understanding is that the defunding was not to go into effect until 2026 but it seems 26 of these professional bodies have already been excluded from the budget. This is serious. Only God knows if they will ever get paid. I see all these our professional bodies increasing the annual dues of their members in order to pay the salaries of the secretariat staffers. It will also help them to streamline their workforce.
