Nigeria is a highly insecure country, and any life lost to it is always regrettable. But what I find nauseating is when people like Reno Omokiri use insecurity for the game of politics.

I'm from Anambra and pretty much know what goes on in my state. On Monday 17th June, Anambra Vigilantee Group(AVG) foiled a kidnap attempt at a Hotel in Nnewi. They chased the kidnappers to the boundary between Nnewi and neighbouring Nnobi where they engaged the kidnappers in a shootout. Unfortunately, a young girl who was caught in the crossfire, and a member of the Vigilantee team, were both killed.

A week later, Reno Omokiri and other peddlers of false news have reduced this unfortunate incident to mean that IPOB was enforcing sit at home and killed the girl, all in a shameful bid to call out Peter Obi. Rather than talking about what can be done to stem the tide of insecurity, people are busy selling false narratives just to score cheap political points.

Whenever you see a person crying more than the bereaved, know that something is fishy in the whole scenario.

Those who killed the young girl are the people making the most noise now, because they want to use the unfortunate incident to create some noise, and so far they have been disappointed.

So Reno will continue squealing like a pig to achieve the purpose of killing the innocent girl.
