Why aren't apparently concerned Nigerians like you condemning Benin Republic ? Why have none of you pointed out that Benin Republic is evidently a barbaric and primitive nation without rule of law if they can treat a suspect in the manner reported. Is chaining a man to a bed not a human rights abuse incident? Why is this not discussed?

I have no doubt that had the case been the reverse, if a Biniose pastor was chained to a bed by Nigeria justice system , that individuals like you would join Benin Republic people in condemning Nigeria using the most derogatory terms possible.

I just want to make you have more understanding about this case, pastor Benjamin case is all over the country and it a clear conspiracy against him, he was a friend of the former president, the girl they claimed he raped is 25 years old now and the girl parents has gone to court to testify that the pastor never raped their daughter. They said pede victorie and nello idowou came to them to allow them use their daughter against the pastor but the refused, instead they went behind and meet the girl and promise her visa to Germany and money, so she comply with them to blackmail the pastor...we that are staying in the country all no about this case, it is pure conspiracy and their authority are backing them to kill the innocent pastor..the girl as confess in the court the this pastor never raped her

He is clearly in a medical center, that why he was chained to the bed and that the normal procedure round the world. The reported should've reached out to the Benin authority and hear why he is yet to be charged.

Well I want to believe you are just trying to express yourself and not denigrate my opinion. Every human deserves a legal representation to prove if he is innocent or guilty... But, laws are not stagnant and infact, laws are meant to control the poor.

When the binance ceo ws arrested in Nigeria, he wasn't treated like a common criminal despite how grievous his issues were.

It is nothing new the way Benin people abuse the human right of Nigerians and victimize our people who are in their country. This reminds me of my personal ordeal in 2002 when I was passing Benin from Ghana to Lagos in a late evening trip. Between seme- Benin border, a non uniform officer seized all my US dollars worth $2000 and I begged him and even shed tears but he was not moved by my plead. At same time another report was overheard while my own case was ongoing that Nigerians ladies who were trying to cross Benin border were been raped in the bush by Benin border touts, that we could even hear agonizing screaming of women from where we were by the main road. Thank God for a Nigerian senior custom officer accompanied by his aids who walked into Benin side purposely to find me after the report of my extortion was reported to them by fellow Nigerian travellers that witness what happened to me. The Nigerian custom officer took a strict action against the Benin officer and first seized his ID card and collected all my money from him and requested me to confirm if the amount was complete. He took the name of the Benin officer and promised to take up the matter to Benin authority next day. It was a hell of a night that I will never forget and was my last night to travel through Benin by road.
Nigerians should learn from my true life story and this pastors story and beware of going to countries where Nigerians are hated and liable to be persecuted unfairly.

The key word here is "if guilty". Courts exist to establish guilt, so what we should call for is a speedy trial. However, they have no right to detain him in inhuman conditions (e.g., tying him to a bed) while he's awaiting trial.

You don't pass judgement on Social Media on a man who has not been tried in Court. The point is the man is chained to bed like a common criminal and has not even been charged or tried and its been over a year.
So you will be happy if you or any of your family members was accused of a crime, chained go bed and justice denied for over a year, they become sick or infirmed in the process based on an accusation that has not been proven in competent court of law??....abeg make una dey think nah

I am not saying the man is a saint- but this looks like a framing issue - either the pastor dated the mother of the girl and things went sour between them and she is trying to get back at him by such accusations or na money matter - lack of good sharing formula for the church business proceeds -----
