Having successful conquered and subdued the Hausa, the Fulani saw Nigeria as a prize or as a property they possess. They don't see themselves as part of a nation they love; they see themselves as the owners of Nigeria. And since the Fulani hold leadership in the North, they put Fulani interest above Nigeria's interest.

Yes, my people, the Fulani put Fulani interest above Nigeria's interest. How? Because the only way the Fulani can maintain their control of North, is to present the South as a political contest. And Ahmadu Bello was the champion of this North/South political division, that imperils Nigeria.
