Let the president step down this request ASAP. There is no tangible Justification for the Ibadan Airport for International Flight Upgrade. I once lived in Alakia, Ibadan and the number of passengers and also human traffic in the Airport doesn't justify an International Status upgrade. The MMIA will suffice whilst the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is a super highway sufficient to move people across the geo-political zone. |

Moroccoguy:The distance between JFK and Newark international Airports in the USA is more or less the distance between Lagos and Ibadan. But issue is both New York and New Jersey have enough population of well to do people who patronise both international airports. But does Ibadan have the numbers? Forcing everybody in Nigeria to the SW region is greed. After, SW govts start to demolish buildings of people forced by government to move to the SW region. A lot of international standards Airports in the east and North are underutilised. |

DUNDEEmoderatos:What's development all about? Second niger bridge was built with borrowed money, contribute nothing to GDP, contribute nothing to revenue... How does it make sense ? Tell me 350 billion used on that bridge could have been given to industries in Anambra 5 billion each as interest free loan by now that would create over 50,000 jobs, generate more tax, and get the month back to do it again By 10 years the tax can build the dam bridge without affecting our economic books negatively... Do u guys know how nations create wealth at all |

wirinet:I have traveled to almost one third of Africa countries and I passed through their international airports . these situation you mentioned about our international airport is not Peculiar to nigerian international airport alone ...all these doesn't stop coming up with proxy international airport to cater for the people living in region who have to pay homogeneous amount of money to come to Lagos state before they could travel .... I have also traveled to many developed countries ....and despite the fact that some of these countries doesn't have larger land mass as Nigeria does ...but you could see some of the international closer to the people ...this.might not be a succor. to you but it is to people who will save some hard earn money and also reduce the burden of travel all the way to Lagos state before travel outside of the country |

mrvitalis:Keep running your mouth as if you are the only one that understands economics! How do you develop or create all those things without good infrastructure? Somebody built a factory in a place with bad roads, how do you get to that factory to work? Do you know the hours of manpower lost due to traffic delays on that single bridge? Do you know that loss of manpower means loss of business and other things? How can someone coming from Lagos to Onitsha to transact business stay in traffic jam between Asaba and Onitsha for hours? Do you know what that means economically and psychologically? How do you create jobs without good infrastructure? |
| Re: Tinubu Has Approved Upgrade Of Ibadan Airport To International Status – Makinde by DUNDEEmoderatos: 9:55am On Jun 27, 2024 |
mrvitalis:Guy go rest! You are even contradicting yourself. I have lived in so many countries, here in the US the first thing they do if a new place is to be developed is infrastructure especially roads and bridges before the main construction will start which might be factories. If someone builds 5 star hotel in the village or factory and there are good road networks and other infrastructures people will go there and that will even help decongest the city. People don't go to 5 star hotel in the village because it is in the village but because most times there are no good connecting roads or the village needs additional road That is the scenario with a place like Onitsha, additional bridge to decongest traffic and then every other things can follow. |

Afonja007:y do all these igbos believe everyone is stealing Niger delta oil? It’s annoying when I hear people say someone is using Niger delta oil to develop a place Before oil was discovered we had cocoa house, liberty stadium different monuments even when your fathers were still roaming around stark naked The most annoying this is that a south south person will never say this rubbish it is the igbos that the south south are even tired of that will say it |
