The Genesis of Nigeria problem , Nigeria was safe & secure when LGA were run effectively because the LGs are the closest to the people. Gone are those days when farmers can get fertilizers, tractors, seedlings and other farm inputs from their LG. And the use of local vigilante were efficient. But things went south immediately I keep saying it the FG fault in all these mess is just a few and Nigerians are yet to realize that the Governors are cancer ♋ to the 5th Republic, the only way out is regionalism and that's when we all see the rot that the gov has caused |

Local governments chairmen and councilors should just be scrapped so that traditional rulers can be a bit more relevant small. |

Too bad, that the local government which are supposed to be our grassroots are now nothing to write home about. Nigeria is blessed with bad leadership. |

Imo State has fixed their LG elections for Saturday, 21st September 2024 and I believe other states has plans too. There is currently an ongoing recruitment for adhoc staff.

Nigeria is finished The third tier of government is as good as dead or moribund where it exists. Tere is urgent need for LGA reforms in Nigeria. All SIECs should be scrapped and return status quo to how it was in 1999 when INEC conducted LGA elections. Democracy is as good as dead in Nigeria because elections at all levels have not been credible. It is even worse at the LGA under state governor control. What exst today is not democracy but civilian dictatorship |

To solve this problem,, LGA elections should be included in INEC's jurisdiction, to run at the same time with the general elections thereby giving LGA officials a 4 year term. Just the way INEC conducts National Assembly and State Assembly elections. Conduct all elections over a 3 week period. Something like;;; 1st Saturday -- Presidential and National Assembly. 2nd Saturday -- Governorship and State Assembly. 3rd Saturday -- Local Government Elections. |

I hope the masses are seeing whom their enemies are....the politicians whom they're running after and worshipping like gods. Despite what the constitution says about the LG administration, they're using them as conduit pipes to siphon money, thereby shortchange the masses. |

Lagos State for example is Tinubu criminal enterprise, let me use one LGA as an example. Amuwo Odofin , the Local government is located inside festac at 41 Road, this criminal enterprise collect tax from festac residence in hundreds of millions but if you go to FESTAC the roads are like Gaza war zone. Decades ago, one Tinubu right hand man Ayo was made the chairman by Tinubu and this idiot was literally using cement and sand to fix roads. Once rain fall twice they start all over again. Back then around 202 road/ FESTAC police station there was a bank there (Oceanic bank) currently Eko bank. In front of their bank there was a drum hole not potholes that was causing traffic and they fixed it overnight because the LG chairman Ayo refuses to give them the go ahead to fix that pothole for free o. Two days later, Ayo sent his thugs at midnight to destroy the spot again because he was expecting hundreds of millions from state government for that particular pothole.

This is bullshit. Presidents doesn't control state governments. Why on earth should governors control the affairs of the LGA even down to elections that should be under the purview of iNEC? We are not ready for development honestly. |
