Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the bomb attack in Borno State, asking the Federal Government not to allow the North East slide back into theater of terrorism.

Atiku in a post on his Verified Facebook page asked the present administration to live up to expectation, accusing government of lacklustre posture in holding firmly to the frontline in the gains made by security operatives.

Atiku said it is a sad development that the “ugly incidents of terrorism are resurfacing and, indeed, metastasising in the North-East.”

According to him, “The reported attack by suicide bombers at a wedding reception, funeral procession, and a hospital on Saturday stands condemned.

“It is unfortunate that much of the pushback that had been achieved against the Boko Haram terror sect are being cancelled, owing mainly to the government’s lacklustre posture to hold firmly on the frontline.

“It is thus important to call on the federal authorities to wake up to their responsibility and to make sure that the North-East does not slide back into a theatre of terrorism and extreme violence.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate in the last election also expressed condolences to the families of victims of these attacks, saying, “it is my prayer that God grants a peaceful repose to the souls of the departed.”

Buhari - the son of the North - couldn't wipe out terrorism and banditry from your region for 8 years but you expect Tinubu to perform magic in 1 year. Anyways, he already responded to you all: he purposely gave most of the military slots to the Northerners because he believe they know their people and terrain better; so should be able to fight the insecurity in their region better than southerners. Did Atiku make the hypocritical noise he makes now (quoted below) anytime during the 8 year rule of Buhari?

Imagine if Northerners had found their voices 10 years ago to tackle a problem their own leaders deliberately caused and abetted to proliferate.

Today, after their complicit silence of many years and with the situation now almost completely irredeemable, they wish to duplicitous push the onus of solutions provision for their own self-inflicted problems to the doormat of Tinubu.

We are not sincere with ourselves in Nigeria. Virtually all Nigerians, for one reason or the other, just love fake casting of others when they themselves are more complicit over what they are blackmailing others with.


Can Atiku and co help to tell us who supply ordinary, illiterate and unsophisticated herdsmen and bandits with AK47 and Rocket launcher steadily for decades now to the extent Nigeria is now a theatre of death?

Dapo Abiodun? Sanwo Olu? Makinde? Or even Tinubu? Dem dey craze with the worlds craziest show of Taqiyah, where those who cause the problem pretend to be seeking solutions, that only Nigerians have the extreme shamelessness to put together.

We have seen the IPOB lot blame insurgency in the SE on the FG to the extent of wildly insisting Ekpa is an agent of Tinubu. Why should the North now not do similar in Nigeria where looking at ourselves sincerely, rather than blaming others automaticslly for our woes, is the last thing most Nigerians will do.

We have seen SW Governors bravely initiate Amotekun and a raft of measures to try and curb Fulani herdsmen and militia menace getting out of hand across the SW.

What has been the effort of the Governors of the North to do similar and, if none, why is Atiku, if a sincere leader genuinely seeking solutions , not challenging them to get creative instead of this charade where all Northerners, silent throughout Buhari's Presidency, have suddenly found their voices of scathing criticism under Tinubu?

Upright, intellectual and principled Nigerians, be it from SW, SS, MB and North ( I have deliberately excluded the SE bereft of all the qualities listed above) know that shameful attempt to gaslight the government of Tinubu comes mainly from Northerners seeking political profit from terrorism and death.

Same folks, to include Atiku, have always shown total disinterest in lifting a finger to genuinely, diligently and sincerely fight the scourge of terrorism and banditry in the North ala "charity begins at home".

That is confirmation their current noise today, following 8 years of silence under Buhari, is driven by parochial agenda and not a desire to see terrorism, banditry and bloodshed ending.

I will say it here without equivocation that terrorism and banditry in the North will only end when Northerners themselves can unite with the determination to stop those amongst them who are abetting, sponsoring and 'fueling' insurgency.directly and indirectly.
