I came across a debate on YouTube, a young atheist was debating a much older Christian about the bible and the existence of God.

As someone that has been acquainted with religion for a while (since birth), I had to start asking myself some questions.

Have I believed a lie?

I decided to have an open mind about it and continue through to the end of the video.

The young man with a dazzling British accent was intellectually dehumanizing the christian. everyone could see it, so could I.

Anyways,it didn't take me long to find their flaw in his thought patterns.

Permit me to digress a little. A long time ago, I came across Neil - (the American astrophysicist; that black guy that makes everyone love science).

I watched all that guy's podcasts, interviews lectures etc. I saw how scientific he approached everything including the questions he was asked. (It was him that said that when he was about to have children, he made a research to find the cause of deaths of children from 0 years to 18.

After getting his data, he ensured that he prevented all those things from happening to his kids. Including getting rid of a swimming pool because he found out that swimming pool was one of the leading causes of deaths of kids of age 3 to about 8 or so I can't remember. Think of what happened to dbanj)

So why did I digress?

Ever since I met the guy, I also became scientific with my life including my beliefs and thought process.

So while listening to the debate, my scientific mindset kicked in.

I want to start commenting on the flaws I observed. It's gonna be a long thread so please don't derail. Just read and add your quota. Don't derail the thread. Thanks.

First, the atheist narrated how he was a born and brought up as a Catholic, and how he had always struggled to FEEL/CONNECT/EXPERIENCE God.

He had made every effort to solve this problem by being an altar boy, studying theology, fasting and praying, living with two pentecostals for months, yet nothing. He met Jehovah's witnesses, other denominations, yet nothing.

So he asked why God refused to show up and make himself known

I know a youtuber, she brought an atheist against me, and he was decimated in 15 minutes and till today since 2 years back she has never brought me into her channel.

Many who call themselves christians are just church goers and closet atheists, and i know that is who the youtuber will bring.

The youtube owner can pick anyone. He can find a most intelligent atheist and pair him against a very simple sunday sunday church goer who goes there out of duty rather than conviction.

As i said, i met a youtuber, who clearly was a closet atheist but because she did not know my stand and because atheism was reigning,she thought i was in support and wanted me in her channel until i tore at some of her beliefs as proclaimed by atheist.

Then she brought one she thought better than her, and she saw him fall.

Till today, she hasn't called me, neither did she produce that debate and the most interesting .and comical part is that never again has she raised any topic about God and atheism in my presence again.

He also asked what he could have done differently. It now became an issue of "did I not have enough faith? Was I not worthy of God revealing himself to me?"

Well let me state this here now that it's not too late, I don't claim to have the answers, but what I hope to do is to ask the atheist who shares in this sentiment a simple question.

If there is a God and you want to feel him or experience him, is it not proper you first ask how he wants to be known, or felt?

I mean it's just normal to think that if there is a God who is high and mighty, then he must have his terms and conditions. Do you just go around looking for him and expecting he shows up anywhere anyhow to prove himself to you? That you are who?

Catholic church teaches the bible in a most pervertous way and unfortunately for mozt church folks, many doctrines they have all come from the catholic church, so serious pervertion are the basis of people's beliefs.

And since most people do not read.the bible for themselves, they are already bye bye.

And based on these stupid and sometimes evil doctrines, many are misled and thought to think stupidly. (as if we do not already think stupidly sometimes)

So idiots who become atheist think that God is like Aladin's genie.

I have watched many debates to know that when anyone brings this up, they have one aim, to make the opponent "run to Jesus".

What do I mean?

Obviously they know that the opponent will rush and say something like " but Jesus wasn't like that. Jesus tells us who God is".

This will ultimately bring the debate about Jesus. You will now argue about the life of Jesus in the 4 gospels. You will now have to face numerous contradictions in the 4 gospels.

And like I knew it, that's where the debate nose dived to.

For a person to become an atheist, it therefore means it is too late and God may have rejected them.

Couple with the fact that a person cannot become an atheist without blaspheming God, so it is too too too bad for them.

I know that the resurrection of Jesus is still a debate.

Why would a man called Saul of Tarsus, aka Paul the apostle, die for a lie?

Take note. Paul never met Jesus in his life time.

The historicity of Jesus may be in doubt, but Paul is well known through out history. I'm not just talking about the Bible.

Why would that man called Paul, give up his life and comfort for a story/myth/legend?

It's just a question.

I've always heard of these debates but I've never watched one so i wanted see what it was like.
