nwahimakper:Na around 300m be that. The amounth for civil servants in the state per month runs to billions. Where the wahala dey be sey, some states can't generate enough revenues. They only depend on federal allocations. You can see the reasons why those states finds it difficult to even cop with the 30k minimum wage. |

nwahimakper:Yes it's true. But in doing so, you have to consider the same masses you're rulling. Because, na them go still pay the taxes one way or the other. And if they (the masses) feel too press to the wall by heavily paid taxes with this hunger in the land, wahala go dey ooo. #Kenya |

nwahimakper:States can actually generate revenues if they are smart to do so.. The fact that kaduna state became the 3rd and is battling with rivers state for second position in IGR after elrufai made policies to encourage such is a typical example. Kaduna used to be at the bottom 15... Now our IGR is even twice and more than that of Kano the commercial center of northern Nigeria. We need to elect leaders who know what they are doing |

nwahimakper:YOU THINK IT EASY, CONSIDERING THE WAY NIGERIA IS BUILT? EVERY THING YOU GO TO THE CENTER. NO STATE CAN GENERATE ENOUGH UNLESS THERE IS RESTRUCTURING. ABUJA NEEDS TO BE HEARVILY DECENTRALIZED. |

Good one. Agriculture is the key and it must be harnessed. Adequate security must also be provided for the Corp members as they embark on this. Kudos to him. |

Nice one. 200K is a good encouragement. With just over 1 year in office, I think Gov Bago is doing well. I was in Minna, Bida, Kotangora and Paikoro area some weeks back. Road Infrastructure, Education, Health and Agricultural seem to be his top priority and he is delivering. |

See the way he casually announced 200k for each corps member but is dragging his feet to accept the meager 62k federal government proposed which labour rejected. I know some people will quote & start doing arithmetic. There are too many ghost workers in the civil service. Imagine someone who travelled (japa) to the UK is still collecting salary two years after s/he left. Rid the system of these ghost workers & watch how 150k minimum wage will be possible in the poorest state in this country. NLC wake up! Collect your money! |

Hezzyluv:Then such a governor is incompetent. As a governor, your primary assignments also includes visionary thinking. How to invest a certain amount of funds to establish and to make the state a business hub to attract investors. Also empowering individuals that can attract revenues through their ideas. Most of the elected governors are people appointed to cover up for a criminal outgoing governor. With no sense of governance. |

JASONjnr:Vision must align with general belied system of a people, if not it will be termed an abomination and the leader a mad man. Vision takes time, just like planting a tree and raising children are long term projects. Sometimes 8 years is a short time before any fruit can be seen, especially when people are desperately hungry and ignorant. Vision can be frustrated if it does not serve the long term interest of the elites. |
