You should calm down. All major cities of the world are getting flooded as well...NYC, London, Dubai, Hong-kong etc.

Atleast Lagos own never reach the level of Dubai where aeroplanes were drifting in the flood and flights had to be cancelled.

You should also recall that one-third of entire Bayelsa state was locked down by flood 2years ago to the point that the whole country had to arrange palliatives for them!

So no single zone all over the world is protected from this extreme weather arising from global warming.

Why is government to be blamed for our negligence? The entire drainage in Orile is blocked, Mushin is the same, you will see people intentionally dumping refuse inside the drainage, do they have to be told not too always? Is the government supposed to use a draconian method of making them do things rightly? Why?

I've mentioned this many times and am suggesting it again. If you're part of a real estate company, you people should look into the possibility of creating estate streets whose building are elevated by dint of archway platforms, see pic. The hight of the arch-row adopted, of course would be moderated by the economic, needs and practicality.

Regardless of measures that Nigeria state and federal government adopt in order to counteract the worst flooding, Climate Change may mean that majority of nations worldwide are forced to to live with regular but reduced flooding.

Building on open-ended arches may provide home owners additional safeguards. I mean buildings erected along the top level with stairways leading to each front door. Arches below would double up as additional real estate for each home owner to do with as they choose - set up business (at own flooding risks) gardens, car garage etc.

Need to do proper cleaning of all gutters cause this tooo much

Unfortunately Nigerians dont even know what climate change is or the effects.
As at the time these cities were planned we had no idea of a climate change. But not withstanding changes have to be made.
Lagos is a coastal state.
In another another 100 years Lagos, California, Florida and many major states around the globe would not be in existence.
Marina and co will be gone in the next 50 years.
