MasterTeeUSA:Dangote can't save Nigeria. He has yet to save even the very communities in which his many companies are located in. So what makes you think it makes sense to put the load that is Nigeria — the lives of over 200 million people — in the hands of a man who until now has worked primarily for his selfish gain, kind of like your many politicians have? ![]() |

OriOko88:Just be yapping nonsense proudly as if anyone of them owes you anything? instead of scheming a scheme to get yourself out of the poverty you find yourself in, you are telling Dangote & Co that you want action & results on your life, or the Nigerian economy? |

Kobojunkie:Haba, What kind of nonsense is this masterteeusa, one man save the Federal Republic of Nigeria? A federation is not established to be saved by a single person, that is why it is a federation of states. Be it Tinubu or Dangote? Una too dey lazy one track minded for that country with your military mentality in a purported democratic dispensation, always looking for a messiah, instead of critical thinking social approach. |

Dangote u are one of the Nigerian problem, is better una turn the economy arround within a month b4 it's too late to avoid what happened in Kenya happened in Nigeria. And I believe Nigeria own would be more worsted than that of Kenyatta. |

mukthar2000:Nothing is happening, The Federal Republic of Nigeria is not Kenya. Everyone should go and hold their state governors accountable for their hunger, let us see how far they get. |

MasterTeeUSA:No, not my respect! This man has been working with the government for the most part of the last 2 decades and in all that time, he has not had what anyone would remotely consider a positive impact on the general economy, in any sector for that matter. Why only Dangote Refinery? Is he the only man in all of Nigeria who could be helped by the government to build a refinery? Why aren't there many other privately run refineries aided by the government? ![]() Africa’s richest man has a built-in advantage with Nigeria’s government |

The structure is the issue. The civil war left such a huge war booty, it couldn't be moved across territories in a year or two so they cemented a structure that guarantees the steady flow of the booty towards the victor. To conceal the status of the victor as the beneficiary of the booty, they declared no victor, no vanquish thing. That booty, though not fully exhausted yet, has been over-depended upon so much that it can't support the indolent and unproductive victors anymore. No body seem to agree on how to stop the unproductive arrangement any longer. |

Standing5:Civil war that ended 54 years ago is the issue, which booty? Lazy minded people will always find something or someone else to blame for their own shortcomings. |

blacknp:War ended but crude oil was so big and had to be moved gradually over decades so they cemented the sharing structure we have used to this day. That's a summary. The war meant the victor dictates the tune and that's why they built so many things around crude oil money. |

Standing5:Very little crude oil discovered in the South East of Nigeria then, don’t be confusing crude oil, with palm oil o? Mind you the States had been created just before the civil war to stop some crooks trying to claim what was not theirs. |

Can't we have foreign based president for once, like local presidents don't Know their left from their right again. Let's sign Canadian prime minister for 6months, New Zealand prime minister for another 6 months, let them help Nigeria out. It boils down to one thing, leadership! |

Wale e show? E don never show oo, oti clear.... Na Naija we dey. Observation mode. Talk is cheap. Nor be today. Well may peace be unto Nigeria and we pray for good things to come but I am afraid because president was a master strategist in Lagos but got lost at the federal level as a president. Dangote is an Emperor in Dangote group but not at the federal level. |

Did he just call Tinubu incompetent? Baba has been in charge of the economy for more than a year with nothing to show. Things have gone worse. |

Tayorshd87:People like you are the problem of this country. You have seen how useless BAT is, see how he destroyed the country's economy. Dangote is promising Nigerians that the country in few weeks from now things will change. Cant you see that BAT is helpless and don't know what to do? Unfortunate, you can't think right too just like your president. The only thing you think about is Peter Obi. Shameless people every where. You should be the one that should not be happy about the development because, it's a proof that BAT have no capacity to rule. |

Vision101:I celebrate the feats you’ve achieved in your career. My submission still stands that everything has been subjected to political fervor and not nation building. I’ll share two personal experiences of why exporters and foreign investors struggle. Exporters: 2016, I had a gig to make delivery of grains to a foreign merchant. I went from Abuja to Bida in Niger state by road, crazy experience (folks up there pray on the roads impeding traffic flow). Got to the grains market there bought samples, made quotes finalized plans. I asked, what would it cost to transport these goods to Lagos, the seller said, (and here’s the government impact)… there is a shorter route between Niger state and Lagos but there are robbers on that route and we don’t use it anymore, the other route, the roads are bad but safer. So the price ended up being at about 200-250k per cargo. My questions - how would governors, who have a constitutional/social contract and duty to protect lives and properties seat, take salaries and watch these things destroyed? Are you aware of how much goods that have been lost to theft and bad roads hence discouraging investment into exports? Have you seen an industrialized country where railway isn’t a priority? Linking ports and regions? Second story - investors 2018, I accompanied someone to a customs yard in ikorodu. This was touted to be the graveyard of peoples investments and dreams. I had to see it myself. Containers upon containers all considered forfeited due to exorbitant demurrage charges. Now here’s the problem, they take out what they like (the good stuff), and auction the rest at ridiculous prices to anyone. I visited a guy, a returning customer as well, he has a spot a short distance from the yard. I saw expensive manufacturing equipment, pumps, radiators, electronics, generators etc. all being sold as expensive scrap. My questions, taking a high handed stance to the detriment of the company, job security at the company and economic collapse or being flexible with custom duties which would be better? Is the government not aware of this racket? Which policies show genuine support for manufacturers? Is it the exorbitant or illegal export duty charges that have been reported severally in the dailys perpetuated by custom officials. In other climes it is possible to clear goods without completion of the whole custom fee, you’re given a ticket (bill) and timeframe to pay up, they are aware of the importance of the equipment to your business and they hope and wish you well. There’s so much more to tell but what I do know is the politicians are implicit/complicit and complacent in all of this. They only care about their pockets. The irony of this is they need a thriving economy to steal, but we have the unlucky combination of unintelligent, greedy and corrupt politicians. |
