Now CBN has helped to perfect their bogus SMS charge with this new mandatory. Propably because VAT is inclusive into the charges, thereby increasing FGN VAT revenue, hence the need to mandate individual account holders.

This is rubbish, no wonder I received SMS after effecting a transfer from an account I've disabled SMS alert.

The other day a family member told me UBN deducts about N9 whenever she tries to top up her phone line and most times the top up won't work and she'll still be charged.
And if she doesn't have airtime on her phone the top-up will fail. Is that not fraud?

I wonder if Emefiele is working for banks against the people cos his policies aren't people oriented at all.

Please, this needs to be in front page. Is there anyway we can protest this anomaly. Why would someone be made to sign such undertaking, that's totally uncalled for. At least they should reduce it to at most 1naira per sms

op its for security..online banking comes with a lot of burdens ( frauds) .sms alert is very important but if you insist you do not need it, then sign the papers that you are on your own.

disabled my sms alert a few years ago when my bank charged me a whooping 1k500 sms charges for the month....and i could remember not making much transactions during that month....Just recently,i found out that i was sent an sms for an online recharge card that i bought...this is pure extortion!!
