First of all, Congratulations to Chinelu first as a woman and next as a Nigerian, if at all she holds a Nigerian passport.

Now to address the stench of tribalism in this comment and as well many others, the last I checked, a Nigerian passport doesn't say you are from A, B or C tribe. If anything is in our constitution, it probably promotes Sectionalism (as independent States) and not tribalism as independent people. It isn't the same thing and we are all withness to what is happening in Nigeria, except that some of us choose to push some myopic narratives. The only place that a person of a different tribe can even aspire to Political power is in the SW of Nigeria. So on what grounds are we paddling this narrative? If anything, you are just raising peoples awareness to your hypocrisy. I have been previledge to live in different GPZ in Nigeria. There is little fact to proof that tribalism is not a commodity we all trade with, just that some are more tolerant, and we know who is who.

SE leads in the tribalism.

You cannot even become ordinary commissioner in south east.

Tribalism over there is rife.

Igbo and success are 5&6, they go together.

Igbos will continue to prosper in all fields of endeavor.

God bless the Igbos forever and ever

We are proud of you our daughter ❤️
I don't think she is from Anambra therefore she is not qualified to hold any position in Anambra. An Igbo man who just happened to be from Ebonyi, but has lived the majority of his life in Anambra is not qualified to be Governor? The same Anambra people then turn around and want to be Lagos State Governor. Ain't that a bitch. Like we say in the hood, Lay down the pipe brother.

When will Nigeria get to this level of governance and democracy? No tribe, no religion just competence and capacity. Nigeria when?

Can we see how many foriegner you have elected into political offices across all your Igbo state or do you have two heads that others can elect you as political leaders in their own land but you can not elect others as political leaders in your land.

Haba!
The Nigerian name surely would have been given to her at birth? The two of us were not there when she was born. Our attraction to her is her name, which is Nigerian. That surely is not in dispute.

When I say home, I mean Nigeria, or to be more specific, to their particular tribe or state. AJ is an example of identifying with his home. Until his profile came up, not many knew of his Nigerian roots. To drive home his relationship with Nigeria, he visited on some occasions, even as he identifies and fights as a Briton.

Sure, they may not consider Nigeria or Africa as their home, in the context of residency. However the truth remains that Nigeria is their home and they are always welcome anytime they deem it to be here.

Obama was born in Hawai, by a Kenyan father and an American mother. He is definitely an American, but that did not clean off his roots. He admitted that and said much more about his Kenyan roots. That’s the way it is for those who do not throw away their roots because of civilization.

And by the way, why do you spell Nigeria as Naigeria?
You did that repeatedly.
Yes, the Naigerian name indicates she was birthed by one Naigerian parent, as i ve said, she is mixed white why you chose to ignore that or recongnise that she is half white i fail to understand. Surely her white roots should be recognised.

My point about her name being given to her by her parent is because people don't have a choice in the names given to them after birth grin i wasn't suggesting that we were present at her birth.

Okay, AJ may have chosen to do that but the others might not want to, you claimed they all want to come HOME. This woman may have Naigerian roots, she also has White European roots which she could also consider as HOME. cheesy it isn't for us to chose where her home is or should be in terms of roots.

I am not disputing their associations or identifications with their roots or their birth parents countries, Never! I have children who have European mothers, hence my passion on roots identifications. I have never picked one root over another when explaining to them their roots.

Again, i point out, i was responding to the individual who described her as a foreigner in England, perhaps because he/she read her IGBO name and thought oh! a foreigner in England.

FYI, i have IGBO roots also.. (if that is how it is described) Born in the UK by IGBO parents. I consider myself IGBO too also because my both parents are IGBO. I also have IGBO name So this is not a dispute about roots, ofcourse, everyone has roots.

Naigeria, Nigeria what difference does it make? Both words sounds the same. cheesy

Thank you for your further clarification. I do not have information about her mother’s nationality. I just looked at it from the point of her name.

Your second paragraph needs for you to note that people have rights over the names given to them after birth or when they have come of age.
For example, someone can say that he no longer likes the names given to him at birth, for his own reasons. Some say there are particular names that they find nauseating and they want to change the names.

I absolutely agree with your position in your fifth paragraph. The lady certainly cannot be termed a foreigner in the UK, with her status as a Briton. Infact one is no longer called a foreigner, once citizenship is conferred.

Maybe you choose to spell Nigeria that way for your convenience. Remember to visit from time to time, especially at Christmas, when Igboland is filled with enjoyment in all the communities.

In all, I thank you for the decorum in the conversation.

Cheers.

I don't know who GRV is.
That’s Ghadebo Rhodes Vivour. The Labour Party candidate in the 2023 Lagos state governorship election. He lost to the present governor, Mr. Sanwo Olu.

He is a Yoruba man from Lagos state, with an Igbo mother and an Igbo wife. Out of tribalistic self centeredness, certain people threw up the narrative that he was a Igbo man, just to de-market him and drive home their point that the Igbos wanted to take over Lagos.

Unfortunately they all never knew that before Tinubu’s governorship in 1999, Lagos had been governed by the military men from the SE and NE.

You can look up his profile on google.
