Whalis:Mr Ikwerre, number one, I am yoruba. You cannot be answering Elechi, and Amadi and be claiming another tribe's name, while you are of a different ethic stock.. Ibos have the right to call you out. Because when you commit crimes while bearing their names, they get the blame, while some you Ikwerre hide in background, sometimes even join in insulting the Ibos. We yorubas know you are all Omo Ibos. The Solution: Since we agree with you that you are Bini, you will have to delinguinize and de-acculturate yourselves of the Ibo/Ibiod languages and names. You can then re-linguinize and re-acculturate yourselves with the Bini names and traditions of your Bini ancestors, for proper identification. You can achieve this within one generation, starting from today.. |

Whalis:Some of you are so daft and dumb. You just displayed the dumbness inherited from your so called grand mother. A grown up like you can't reason for yourself, but is basing your nonsense argument on what an illiterate grand mother told you. Have you ot heard of Ndi Anambra, Ndi Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu Abia and so on? Have you not heard Onitsha people calling other Igbos nwa onye Igbo? Does that make Onitsha people none Igbos? Some of you are very very slow. |

irepnaija4eva:I do not believe your father can call me young man or ask if I am blind This is what the current Oba of Benin said The Oba of Benin said his visit was aimed at strengthening friendly and close relationships between the people. “I am here to strengthen the friendly relationship and close affinity of our people. History has it that some of the tribes here trace their ancestry to Benin. These include the Ikwerres, the people of Ahoada and Omoku,’’ he said. A lie can run for 100 y3ars but the truth will catch it with one step |

Whalis:Ikwerres are Igbos but not Isuama or Etche that's the difference. Prior to modernization there was no generally accepted term for everyone now called Igbo as each district had a distinct name they identified with and many never even knew the word Igbo existed. However in diaspora they developed common identity.

BiafIntel:chai the thing pain this man well well. Stop forcing yourselves on people who don't want you nor like you Ikwerres are not anyway affiliated to Igbos. During the civil war, Biafra soldiers invaded Ikwerre land, killed their men and renamed those towns with igbo names. |

Ikwere people migrated from nkwerre in imo state. Go and ask apiti 1 of rumueme Why does ikwerres speak Igbo and bear Igbo names. Most ikwere names are more Igbo than what you will find in some Igbo states 95% of ikwere people speaks and understands Igbo without being taught because of the similarity. I grew up in port Harcourt |

Whalis: .. how old are you?? Children everywhere on nairaland. Wike aka Nwike is not Igbo even when he dresses with the customary red igbo cap and speaks a language I understand more than afikpo or nsukka in the core South East?? Like I keep telling fellow igbos, leave the ikweeres... they say they are not Igbo, no wahala 😂... we all know the truth...they also know the truth. We've had this discussion a million times in the early days of nairaland and it all ended with we igbos laughing at them like our misguided siblings which they are. Let it rest! But also remind them that it is their turn to produce president Ohana eze ndigbo... an organisation the revered Obi Wali and many other respected ikwerre were a part of. |

These include the Ikwerres, the people of Ahoada and Omoku,’’ he said. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/south-south-regional/372644-wike-to-benin-monarch-resolve-oshimohole-obaseki-feud.html?tztc=1 Thi s is my citation of what the current Oba said A citation must have a source If a book Tell us your quote The name of the book Year of publication Author Quotation and pages cited Anything short of that is fake news |
