Supposing he does his interview without mentioning another tribe, will it kill him? Very unintelligent lie there. |

If the British had not created Nigeria, most Yorubas and Hausas would not have known who Igbos are Ask the average Nigerian who the Fon ethnic group are, they won't know But the Fon ethnic group are the largest tribe in neighbouring Benin Republic The average Nigerian doesn't know them because they are in a different country next-door |

We are the same. In my palace, to date, I still have a house of Igbo (pronounced as Igbo in ‘Igbo people’). Where the Ooni lives is called Ile-Igbo. Igbo, to the Yorubas and Ife, is a new dawn; it’s Igbo. And when you sleep, they say, O digbo’ore, O digbo’ore. ‘Igbo’ means Ile-Igbo. That means you will begin afresh. Well, the Igbos probably might not know. I don’t know. They have their meaning. In the old days, this Oba would marry an Igbo wife to consolidate the relationship. In fact, he still wisely might.

What I know is that we have Ugbos (in Ondo state today) who fought the Ifes. Moremi, an Offa princess married to the Ife king saved the Ifes from the Ugbos. That's how Ife became peaceful and they made progress. The Olugbo of Ugbo kingdom has stated the history from their own perspective. It's not so different except that they claim to be the original settlers in the area. Ugbos are different from Igbos. Ugbo is bush in some Yoruba dialects. |

If una never call igbos for una interviews to get more publicity and trend more, una body no go rest. Talk more about fixing Nigeria than igbos and Peter Obi every time. Every nitwit that wants to hit headlines nowadays will just find a way to mention Peter Obi, Nnamdi Kanu or Igbos. Make una rest nau. Leave them alone. |

Ooni is 100% wrong on this. Igbos and Fulanis actually have same ideology, migratory/nomadic culture, hotblooded/easily angered, fair skin complexion, same shape of head, Tit for tat view of life (mosaic law just like jews), persistency, ruggedness, superiority complex, etc. and must definitely share same ancestral links. The only difference is one embraced Islam and cattle rearing while the other Catholism and trading. Yorubas have nothing in common with Igbos. We only share ancestral links with the Binis. |

Igbos are descendants of Jews. Even though Netanyahu tries to deny, it can not be wiped off history. Yoruba’s gave Igbo the South-East which they presently claim as home now. A day will come when they will go reclaim their land in Israel, and so shall a day come when their tenancy will expire and Yoruba’s will reclaim the South-East. |

Funny as it sounds, the man is saying the truth But the current socio-political climate won't allow his musings to sink into the heads of the people The Igbos should work on themselves The Yorubas should work on themselves |

Why this lazy tribe always like to dey disgraced themselves? Must you gum yourself with other people by force? Must the Yoruba people keep on forcing the great Igbos to be inline with them? Next election now you go start hearing about Igbos should leave our land and go back to the South East. The fear of hausa fulanis is the beginning of force friends with Igbos. Nobody dey hear about MC OLUOMO ALE anymore

Kabiyesi, you are wrong. The Igala (a yoruboid tribe like the Itsekiri) conquered the ibos. That's the only relation we have with the ibos. That's why some Ibo words are actually borrowed from the Yoruba. E.g. Ibo - Yoruba - english Ewu.— Ewurẹ. — Goat. Torotoro—. Tolotolo. — Turkey. Ọnu.—Ẹnu. — Mouth. Nti.— Eti. — Ear. Agba.— Agbon. — Chin. Imi. — Imu—. Nose. Iba. —Iba. — Fever. Gbọrọ. — Gbọ.— Hear. Okute - Okuta - rock/stone Nso nso—. Osuosu—. Menstruation Atọ.— Ẹta.— Three Gini. —Kini. —What Ala—. Ilẹ.— Land Mmiri.— Omi.— Water Okute.— Okuta.— Stone Afufe. —Ifufe. —Wind Oyi.— Oyi. —Cold Ọka. —Ọka. —Corn Ebe.— Ibi.— Place Afa.— Ifa.— Divination Ulọ. —Ile.— House Olisa.— Òrìṣà.— Deity Uru.— Ere. —Gain Ọgbọ—. Ẹgbẹ.— Age-mate Oru—. Ẹru. —Slave Onye—. Eniyan.— Person Akpa—. Apo.— Bag Akpati.— Apoti—. Box

I agree that the tribes in Southern Nigeria are very much related and mixed to good extent. However, the use of Kolanut analogy may be an issue because Igbos grows Kolanut. We have two kolanut trees in my house and they grows and bear fruits. I will agree with Ooni that Igbos do not grow enough Kolanut that they need and have to buy more to supplement l |

I watched a TV presentation where an igbo local historian claimed the same thing. I don't really know which of these. All of at the south of Niger share common origin. In fact, Ifá Oracle and Afa in Igbo, Nupe, Igalà, Ebira.... is a common deity worshipped by all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vTtJaAuSEg?si=O-Liw5j15wDP3e0V There are four episodes in the series. Try and watch all. Bloggers, especially enthusiasts with no knowledge of history are causing damage to our existence. |
