Yes, a Governor can the national Flag to be flown at half mast…but it’s only applicable to the aforementioned state while the president can order for all the states in the Federal Republic.

A commandant in a military school can even order the national flag to be flown at half mast if he loses one of his associates.

What statute are you quoting? There must be a national instrument somewhere that backs up this your point. Otherwise, even motor park leader and market women leader could also give such orders too. You should quote a section of our national instrument that gives the governor such power.

I don't think the governor is referring to the national flag. Perhaps he's referring to PDP flag, state denominated flag and other subjugated flags.

The Governor has no authority and power.

Only the President can order the flag to be flown at half mast but there is so more aberration in Nigeria , where the Governors behave like drunkards.

Gov do not have the authority to ask that our national flag to be flown at half-mask. That is a gross violation despite his love and respect for the assembly member. He ought to come through presidency and it should be for national figure or hero. Nigeria na anyhow
