OBIGS:
This is a good development and highly welcomed.

The way this cart pushers cause daily accident along badagry express road especially from alakija to iyanoba painful. How will a cart pusher be struggling right of way with cars on express. Some will even be pushing following one way on the express. Lagos as a big city shouldn't have such nuisance in its environment. Upgrade your environmental laws and create stable way waste collection round Lagos.
First, a waste cart pusher probably has no other means of livelihood.
Second, not everyone in Lagos can afford LAWMA fees, reason they turn to these cart pushers.

What should the govt do then?
Regulate them!
1. Areas of operations
2. Times and days of operations
3. Cart specifications
4. Allowed roads and traffic rules
5. Registration/identification
6. Tax them
** This might look theoretical, but it's a good framework to build upon.

We should always think outside the box and recognise the fact that the Lagos society has different parts. We should be looking for how to take advantage of every part towards development, not just summarily eliminating them because we "think" they're annoying. This is how India became a world power.

More joblessness in an already jobless society. They should rather regulate these poor struggling men than confiscate their cart. What a wicked world

Nana3418:
Illegal cart pushers in Lagos contribute to environmental degradation and obstruct official waste management efforts, thereby undermining the city's cleanliness and beauty. This will go a long way in reducing the menace cost by this acclaimed illegal cart pushers.
What Lagos Govt Should Do:
- In Most Places in Lagos mainland, why should Ojota- Dumb sites is the only one or Oyinbo.
- Ketu and Ikorodu - should have their Separate dustbin sites - so as to make it easy for the Masses.
It very wrong and awkward - for Ikorodu People to be waiting endlessly for LAWNMA, because apart from the fact that Ojota- is too far, unless the Govt is saying they are giving the boys Jobs,no reason why Ikorodu and it's environ should not have Separate places to put the diets.

You are taking stupid action on the people that are helping you clear the dirty in the state, lawma are not working the way they should, that is why all these Aboki are still doing the job, if lawma is duly working the Abokis wouldn't have getting nothing to do with waste.
Those guys are the ones blocking drainages and they are chronic thieves .

Those cartpushers are lifesavers in inner streets where the PSP garbage trucks can't/don't reach. They should focus on operating within those terrains
exactly. They should focus on that or better still, those PSP should start entering those streets

The government should find a way to limit their activities within the inner streets or if possible make them work hand in hand with the garbage trucks. We have not really gotten it on terms of garbage disposal yet the government thinks it's a good idea to get rid of one of the key figures in garbage disposal. It's like they want to turn the streets of Lagos into one big dumping ground

This is not a way to frustrate anybody!

These cart pushers are doing more evil than good in our society.
I have caught like two of them in the past that stole things from our neighbours.
