I don't think new states can be created in Nigeria because many of the old ones can't even pay basic minimum wage. Many states are already heavily indebted to several financial institutions. I remember Osun State almost collapsed under Aregbesola due to indebtedness. Ned should focus on major challenges affecting Anioma nation such as erosion control, flooding from river niger, installation of new transformers, boosting of agriculture, employment for it's teeming youths etc... When the former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa served as Senator he didn't mention state creation because he knows it's a pipe dream. 4 Likes |
