Yes! I am here. In linguistics ikwerre language could be classified as Igboid. This is because Igbo is in majority so anyone who speaks any language that sounds like Igbo would be described as Igboid. The meaning of this is that the language is either Igbo or Igbo related. If Ikwerres were to be in majority like having five states and the Igbos 4 LGAs the Igbo language would be described as Ikwerriod. You and I know that apart from some common words we share in common every other thing about us differs. Our life values and way of life differ.

Now, in the case of wike speaking Igbo fluently do we say, it was as a result of him being Igbo by blood or he learnt Igbo by mixing up with igbos or he, has lived in Igbo land at some point of his life?

Oga, rest! There are no two Igbo dialects that sound exactly the same way. Everyone has his own dialect and there's one standard language that everyone understands - that's what Wike spoke in the video. This is the case in most languages.

For a reason best known to you people, those who speak Igbo in Rivers State were asked to deny being Igbo after the civil war - probably because Igbos lost the war and you lots feared the aftermath. While some still admit to being Igbo, others play to the script to date. One thing I don't seem to understand though is why Igbos are so interested in making Rivers people accept who they have chosen not to be. What's the gain for the real Igbos?
