The Executive Governor of Abia state, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti meets with the leadership of organised Labour in Abia State; Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), reassures of his commitment to the welfare of workers.

Against the backdrop of misleading information, Governor Otti says his government has not received any dime from the Federal Government to implement 35,000 Naira wage award for workers in the State but promised to look into the wage award demand of Abia Workers.

Governor Otti stated this during a meeting he held with the leadership of the organized labour in the State. He disclosed that his government will create the Ministry of Labour and Productivity as his government is poised to make minimum changes to the structure of government.

According to him, the new Ministry will have its Commissioner from the Labour fold.

Workers in Abia are lucky now. PDP will totally ignore them. They should celebrate Otti.

This is the statement that gave rise to several "white elephant" abandoned projects where a sitting governor will start a gigantic project, pay for the contract in full, syphone the money and abandon the project while telling us that Government is a continuous process , the next governor should continue where he stopped!!

What stops the new governor or president from completing such projects? If the money for the project has been allocated then the person who allocated such fund and the reciver should be arrested, with that we can't have a better society even if we disintegrate by local governments

Excuses. When he inherited geometric power plant project from Ikpeazu, you all gave otti the credit for it, but now that salary is not being paid, you gave the bad credit to ikpeazu. Ikpeazu left gov't over one year ago, Otti should buckle up.
