There are some things that fans of the man that gets his ideas from mad men cannot comprehend just like those people mentioned in the Bible that could not understand most of the teachings of Jesus. That is why HE will called his immediate disciples, when everyone else has left, to them in depth.

Now, to answer you directly, (even though your bigoted soul will not comprehend or you naturally do not want to comprehend), the pain we are going through as a nation is a culmination of many years of terrible actions and inactions, terrible and insanely acts of corruption from evil and wicked leaders from 1960.

Even the Great Britain and the United States would not have survived such horrible and deliberate pilfering of the country resources for so long a time.

So it is disturbing and disheartening for anyone to expect that such a badly deteriorated and disfigured country can suddenly be transmuted into El Dorado overnight.

There must be a period of pain (which nobody like, in fact, I do not like it too), but which is inevitable. It's like you having a wound for close to sixty years and then expect a miraculous touch for it to disappear!!!!!! Never, you must undergo a period of cleaning and cleansing and treatment which will be so painful that you would even want the treatment to stop. But an intelligent and brilliant nurse or doctor will continue with the treatment knowing fully well that the healing is around the corner. The flies and germs (like the headless mob) will not like this to happen, they will keep roaming about the wound trying endlessly to want to continue the decay of the wound. But the wound carrier (the country) and the doctor (the president and well meaning Nigeria like Professor Wole Soyinka) will continue with the treatment (which of course, is very very very very very PAINFUL).

The Professor knows that Nigeria is in good hands. He knows that the wounds that Nigeria suffer is enormous, and so the Doctor needs to deal with the source of the problem (and this will surely cause a lot of pain ) and the Doctor (the president) will not relent.

Even the great America that most of us cite as example once passed through a very great difficult times such as the great depression. Go and read the history of Singapore and even China. And even Isreal. They all went through very very very difficult moments.

So the Prof knows the wound is receiving the best of treatment from a professional and not from a borehole commissioner or minister of condolences.
