Re-read what JuanDedios posted again, this time forget about Nigeria and her issues. Focus on the debate about Communist nations vs Democratic ones. ( you're letting your personal issues and experiences with Nigeria cloud your judgement on this issue).

There's no system that can guarantee you progress. We have too many communist shytholes and too many democratic shytholes . But one thing is for sure, there are more Democratic successes than communist success stories. And there are reasons why you hardly see people moving from Democratic nations to communist ones.

In terms of development, no, we have not. At least, not the kind of progress we should have made.

But, again, dictatorship set us back. After independence, we only had 5 years before soldiers stopped us. By the time democracy fully returned in 1999, we had a country completely destroyed by the military, with corruption fully institutionalised and woven into every fabric of our national life. Unfortunately, the elected leaders have continued where the military stopped. Back in the 1960s, if a politician gives you a contract, he will collect 10% of the sum as kickback. But what do we have today? He can pocket the whole money. Today's system was created by the military.

The solution, we continue with democracy since we can, at least, come on Nairaland and Twitter to abuse Tinubu and Umahi to our heart's content and expose what we can. Sometimes, the authorities will listen and act. Small small progress - that's all we can get for now. This is better than a system that robs you and won't even let you complain. Hopefully, we will someday get a president that knows what he's doing and there's be a turnaround.

My point exactly is this: The west creates unrest in your country once u dont align with them except u are very strong and have strong allies. This is a known fact. They will create unrest by creating groups against ur govt. I never said they created IPOB. But know that no unrest is without a strong backing by govt or non state actors.

I think you are mixing up issues here. Dubai and Burkina are two different issue. That of Dubai was about investment and the issue about Burkina is about military rule.

To clear you on something about Dubai, the west built Dubai they sank their investment in there and it paid off because they wanted it that way.

Dubai and the Emirates are free from terrorism and internal crisis because of the west. So please you should look into how Dubai was developed who were the contractors and the expatriates there and who has the long term contracts for infrastructure maintenance and likewise the service industries there. Follow the money and you will find out why that place is the way it is. Don't let anyone fool you bro.
