Pepper dem is a national sport in India. Everything of note is a competition.
Yes, they're tight-fisted, but dropping 3m to get Rema to perform the hit song Calm Down is exactly something an Indian would do in a ceremony where he probably isn't paying fair market rate for Indian-provided services.
